All visitors of Burano remain intrigued by the many colours and the colorful houses that are reflected into the green waters of channels, by the leaning bell tower, by the tranquility and the calmness with which the elderly ladies embroider original Burano lace by their tombolo (or lace pillow), while they are laughing and chatting in squares among them. It seems to be in paradise.
The magnificent fortress of Le Castella is located on the eastern end of the Gulf of Squillace in the province of Crotone. To be precise, in Isola di Capo Rizzuto looking out over the protected marine reserve of the same name. You don't need much imagination to see the Aragonese soldiers locked in combat with Turkish pirates five centuries ago.Точный век основание Ле Кастелла неизвестен, возможно, ее возвели в период Великой Греции. At the intersection of Via Carducci (former via S.Girolamo) and Via San Vittore - a street full of aristocratic palazzi that runs along the path of the medieval walls of the Naviglio covered over in 1883 - stands an eccentric building. This is the result of a project by the architect Adolfo Coppedè (brother of the famous Gino). The building stands out for its imposing neo-medieval style even though it was constructed in the nineteenth century; however, it is devoid of excessive decorations: the building is constructed with brick and embellished with white stone. Built on five floors, the highest is decorated with crenellated merlons with the addition of a tower with battlements and gargoyles that are particularly well crafted. The ashlar masonry of the first floor gives a slightly eclectic touch to the building Definitely worthy of note is the covered loggia which further reinforces the original style of the house. Because of its volume, the position on the corner of two streets and factors such as the loggia and the tower, the building has a decidedly monumental aspect.

St. Joseph’s Cathedral is the oldest church in Hanoi, with construction beginning in 1886, and the design intending to emulate its Parisian counterpart (Notre-Dame de Paris). The cathedral was built in Gothic Revival-style, built of granite slabs and gorgeous stained glass windows shipped to Hanoi from France. The exterior, however, is being seriously worn down, as pollution is a severe issue in Vietnam’s capital city.

Це́рковь Свято́й Тро́ицы — бывшая старообрядческая церковь во Владимире, построенная в неорусском стиле в 1913—1916 годах, закрытая в ходе гонений на церковь в 1928 году. Памятник архитектуры регионального значения, с 1974 года — выставочный зал Владимиро-Суздальского музея-заповедника. Владимирцы в обиходе часто называют её «Красная церковь».
Now-deserted lighthouse on the southmost point of Sakhalin island was bulit in 1939 by japanese. It really looks like some kind of fairy-tale castle, especially when approached from the sea during the foggy weather. It is a well-built structure, with polished concrete walls inside - it was serviced until 90ies i think, and worked as an automated lighthouse for some time as well (fuelled with some kind of nuclear batteries). Not safe to climb, but you still want to look inside.
