The plywood is the best part and I wish there were more of it. This picture shows how the new building will look in the context of the surrounding streets and buildings.

This area massive housed the turbines in the old power plant and is a huge open space in the building. You can see from the photo this area is about three floors tall, but keep in mind those floors are a lot larger than a normal building floor height. This area will be preserved in the new building construction, but will have a floor that’s hung from the ceiling and will “float” off the masonry walls.

Structural steel for the Integrated Sciences Complex arrived on Wednesday, December 21, and the steelworkers have been busy erecting two stories of columns and beams on the north wing. The university community will see the ISC take shape as steel continues to go up and metal decks, concrete slabs and fireproofing are installed through the spring.

Crews continue to do ground improvement work to reinforce the soil under future utility, sidewalk and other hardscape areas at the Integrated Sciences Complex. Concrete pile caps are being installed in the service and supply tunnel construction area and other reinforcing steel and concrete work continues on the ISC foundation.

The concrete slabs are being poured on both wings of the Integrated Sciences Complex. They are six and a quarter inch thick. Concrete placements will continue, and preparations for drywall and fireproofing are under way.

March 28, 2022 - Looking south across Goodale Pond to the Gazebo which is currently undergoing a renovation. In the distance you can see the construction progress on the new Hilton Tower which is being built across North High Street from the Hilton Columbus Downtown. The new 28 story hotel tower will have 460 guest rooms and between the two hotels it will be the largest hotel in the state of Ohio with nearly 1,000 rooms.
