The Daily Shoot assignment for 2011/09/30 was : "Rules" can be stifling if taken to extremes. Break the rules today with focus, composition, etc, and see what happens.

I might start going along with dailyshoot.com assignemtns every once in awhile. Today's was break the rules. I purposefully misfocused, and set the shutter to 20s.

I broke all the rules of composition with this one. Made it look like the bird was "looking into" the frame.

Well one thing I have learned is that anything goes really in the art of photography.
Movement, shooting into the sun can all make for an interesting photograph. You can, if you look close enough at it, see the pine tree, branches coming out of the dark trunk, with the setting sunlight peaking through the branches.
Either that or I need to have my eyes tested and possibly drink more. LOL
Either way, have a super evening. .... Go ahead, break the rules, move that camera on a bit of a slow shutter speed...live dangerously when it comes to taking a photograph. Lets see your broken rules!

On Thursday we took our annual trip to Cedar Point. It was a beautiful day in the low 70s yet there were no crowds at all. The longest we waited for anything was half an hour.
I caught these three stepping across the yellow line while waiting to get on the Cadillac cars. After the stocks I made them eat an elephant ear and a funnel cake. It was pure torture.
Day dreaming in a field of tall grass, watching the boys at play, the kite dancing in the wind. A little piece of heaven.

I decided to break the rule of photography and take a single subject against a blue sky. Phooey to the rules.
This week the theme is "Break The Rules". For my first picture I have this uninteresting picture of my parent's house. From this picture, you cannot tell this is my parent's house. You really don't know for sure it is a house. It could be any brick building.
