On a rush to emulate Bre Pettis' Weekend Projects, I built my own power box where all my mobile devices can be charged at. Aren't you fed up to deal with so many chargers spread around the house? I was, so I bought a 2,5 euro plastic container at Hema, a 7,99 euro compact power hub. Made few cuts for the cables to go throughout and ready!

Each year, Gallery Route One in Point Reyes invites over a hundred artists to create unique works of art using a wooden box.
Here are the inspiring artworks they created this year: they range in style from whimsical to poignant and thought-provoking. These photos were taken on closing day, when the gallery organized a live auction for each of this year’s 150 boxes. The proceeds support the gallery’s exhibits and community programs.
Two of the boxes were created by members of our art community: Howard Rheingold (a.k.a. Dr. Rindbrain) contributed an illuminated box called ‘Magical’, while Geo Monley and Meryl Rubenstein made ‘Les Puzzles.’
Members of ‘Pataphysical Studios came to cheer for their peers -- Dr. Really was the highest bidder for Dr. Rindbrain’s piece, which was thus kept in the family. After the show, we all went to Stellina to celebrate over a nice dinner.

Walking around Hampstead i noticed this old wall post box there are still a few left in London that are still being used in this age of high technology. This one is probably from the Victiorian era so they are still in competition with the internet email I wonder when their day is up I can't see this model on the following link so I only guess it is Victorian. www.norvic-philatelics.co.uk/2009/images/090818_postbox_s...
I have since come back to this description and I have now noticed that at the top of this post box there is a V space R that must stand for victoria regina.
Home-made toy rabbit family.
They have wire armatures, padded and covered with bits of old cotton stocking, with leather ears and embroidered features. They are nicely dressed in scraps of cotton fabric and I think they probably date from the 1940s.
Taken 22/07/12: I was in Wool for the D’Urberville Dash 10K and took the opportunity to snap the signal box (incidentally the Station Building must be one of the ugliest on the National Network). Based on the following from the SEG web-site, this may have been a timely snap:
“Next year [2013?] the line between Parkstone and Weymouth will be re-signalled, with control then from Basingstoke ASC. Signal boxes to be closed are Poole, Hamworthy, Wareham , Wool and Dorchester South. … Wool … dates from the 1890s and appears to have original frames. … [and has] been altered over the years … the Network SouthEast extension … is far from sympathetic to the original structure."
Looks like I’ll have to try and get to Poole and Hamworthy in the near future.
My girls had a birthday party to go to and I totally forgot. So we took a wooden box we had that was not that pretty and covered it with paper and used the DT to dress it up. Oh and a handle at the top. It is a mazing what a little paper can do.
On the way to EMMA--Espoo Museum of Modern Art--we came across a couple of utility boxes.
Not quite the size of the boxes in Helsinki, yet beautiful as well.
Seen in Tapiola, Espoo. Hagalund, Esbo.
One box for each boy for a gift. My boys like strange and odd things. I figured these antique dynamite boxes would make great storage for their DVD's and conversation pieces as well.

Nice phone. Nice Android. Lots of HTC apps bundled (eg. FriendStream, music player, calendar, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr), pre-configured (eg. shrinking photos for MMS), and a sprinkling of Telstra apps (eg. Yellowpages, Whitepages, QR Code Scanner) make this a very nice phone out of the box.

We had a match box swap in the Marie Antoinette Mail Art Group, hosted by the lovely Holly, she was also my partner and this is what I sent her.
★★★
Big chiken-leg.
Sometimes, I really scared of too many meat. But the female co-worker always say " what? this one is sooooo small", after opening the lunch box.
This is a small floral music box using stained glass and vitrious glass tiles. Its about 5X3X2 or so total size. The base is solid wood and I found it in a small antique shop with a broken music element. I fixed it and am quite pleased with the way it came out...though the background was quite fiddly and difficult. It is mosaiced around the back as well.

This is an original "toasting cup" for the special inventors that get together to dream their dreams of new and better machines. You will notice it has the fold out handles. This is so they can carry it around to their meetings. It is just the right size for their saddle bags. 5" across and 3.5" tall.
I have redesigned the toasting cup for goddesses to hold their treasures. You will notice on the top there are allusions to the Venus of Willandorf, birds, bees, and flowers. The escutcheon on the front implies that it is lockable, but of course it's not. Goddesses don't need to use locks. No one would dare steal from them! Nobody fools with a goddess!
I have lined the box with a pretty paper which has been sprayed several times with polyurethane to keep it nice. The spiraled brass is attached to the box in several places, the little objects on top are riveted on. The materials include brass, copper, and sterling silver. I have spent a lot of time on this so it will be worthy of you goddesses
