I love wrapping presents, almost as much as I like buying them. This is the box for a friends gift, and I love it so much I might have to buy myself one.
Telephone Box about 500 yards east of Kilmuir (in the Black Isle of Scottish Highlands) looking south with Moray Firth in centre ground. The recession must be biting deep in 2009 as the notice is tell people camping overnight is not allowed. Sound as if people who used to fork out a few pounds for B&B are now looking to save money by finding a phone box with a good view.
ADDED 2012 AS AN AFTERNOTE: There have been items on the local news and it seems BT want to remove the box but the local residents are campaigning to keep it. Another similar box in a small village in the Borders has been adapted by the residents as a DEFIBRILLATION BOX. Seems an excellent scheme and details can be be found on a site operated by Steve Jones on behalf of his villlage:-
Letter box at the entrance to a magical garden in the Darmstadt Artists' Colony, part of a project Offene Gartenpforte (Open Garden Gate). This garden, privately owned but accessible to the public, is in the tradition of the Lebensreform movement popular in Germany and Switzerland at the turn of the last century.
New cardboard pinhole camera with curved plane.
The camera will shoot on photo paper size of 13 x 18 sm with curved 120 ° plane.
Focal length about 85 mm
Pinhole 0.37 mm
kennedy 260. 26" wide and 11 3/4" deep (approx the same depth as the snap on boxes on the left). This box/chest makes a nice edition to my well loved Snap On boxes.
They are in such crappy condition and filthy... but I guess 5 months will do that to them.
I've unpacked 3 so far. One plastic box I used to hold other things got squashed and cracked, but that is my own fault.

How do creative professionals who are paid to think outside the box express themselves? At Corey McPherson Nash, we do it inside the boxa shallow, glass-topped, wooden box, to be exact.
14 years ago we resuscitated the quaint craft of shadow-box making and turned it into a company ritual. The rules are simple: Don't go outside the box, and don't put anything living inside the box. But the object is ambitious: to provide a hands-on tutorial in Corey McPherson Nash's organizational culture. "Our basic operating principle is to define broad goals, supply a little structure, and then give people the freedom to do creative work."
With the shadow boxes, that principle has produced wildly diverse visions. Among the completed boxes: a vivid frightscape, complete with a crank for animating dancing-devil cutouts; a meditation on "what it could have been," featuring a loose marble and a list of design possibilities; and Tom Corey's own taxonomy of "bad seeds."

Unit: 1 square
Paper: Metallic Pincord Paper
I have made this model five times and have not been able to get it perfectly square. It is a fun idea for duo paper, though.
building two 7 foot long cedar window boxes isn't really all that hard, but like most projects it's never going to get done unless i set aside the time to actually do it! so, this year i made the perennial to-do item on my list a mother's day gift for kris so i'd be sure to get it done :-)
they are simple boxes made similar to what's shown in this martha stewart cedar window box how-to. i used three 1"x10" cedar boards with 2 1"x1" cedar "cleats", which hold the front and back and sides, drilled and glued to the bottom board. i trimmed the bottom board to 8" wide so i could flare out the front of the box to give it a little more style that a simple rectangle.
i suppose i could fancy them up with some trim at some point.
