I made this from a discarded box. You can see how big it is more or less if you compare it to the coffee mug. I used spary paint, acrylic, sharpies, and pens to create this.
I call this kind of box a "Schrodinger's Box" as a reference to the fact that it's made as one large box, and until you slice off the lid, there's just no telling WHAT might be inside... Maybe even Schrodinger's Cat

Ususally there's just sawdust, but you never know....
The dark wood is walnut, the top is quilted maple with a walnut stripe.

This disused tramways signal box on the corner of Swanston, Franklin and Victoria Streets in Melbourne is heritage-listed by the National Trust. This area is soon to be redeveloped, so I thought I'd better take a photo of this building, lest it be demolished.

So I finally finished a batch of mosaics. Have a few more that should be ready soon. I always wait for the grout to set for a couple of days before I put a clear coat on them. This is a trinket box.
71 SW Oak Street. Known as Dielschneider Building, it is the 3rd oldest standing building in Portland. Also, one of Portland's cast iron buildings, which have a pretty cool history as a collective and individually.
She used me until I was a empty shell then she discarded me!

My first visit to these beach boxes, although I've been in Melbourne over 20 years. Was a beautiful day to visit.

For those who saw my earlier photograph of a pregnant cat outside my front door, I thought you might be interested in the result. They are now about two weeks old, and the next-door neighbor thoughtfully provided this box and blanket when the mother seemed confused about where to move her kittens next.

This is a horrible horrible picture!!! But I cannot get a better one at this point!!

Its very hard to see the variation in the tiles but they are very very gorgeous!
I was inspired by a box I saw that Mosaicfanatic2 has done and wanted to make one that is similar but of course not the same!!!
I will be using tempered glass over the gold paint (my monitar makes it look almost copper!!!) and I still have more polymer braiding to do but havent had a chance yet to make.

Once again, the Ars Electronica Festival grounds were serving as a playground for young filmmakers. Equipped with camera and microphone, youngsters with physical handicaps were able to work together with mentors from an association named FAB to document what has happened at the festival and the various approaches artists and visitors were taking to the 2016 theme.
In February 2017, the movie Alchemy Box was presented in the Deep Space 8K of the Ars Electronica Center.
