The Union gunboats approached up the Cumberland River, exposing them to the Confederate siege guns for a long time.
Because of a dam downstream, this is now Lake Barkley. At the time of the battle in February 1862, high water would have raised the river above its normal levels, but not as high as the current reservoir.
I purchased one of those fiber optic light decorations to photograph! Thanks for the inspiration "Perfexeon!"
i haven't captured bokeh in quite sometime...i think i like this.
