NOTES
These lights in the background do not match really well with flash. So straight out of camera, the result is just yellowish and greenish, it really needs some treatment. I ended up with a desaturation and some split toning in Adobe Camera Raw to fix and match the colors. So this was a situation with mixed light sources, that did not work out so well (expect for the great bokeh). But there are other situations, in which the mixture ist just perfect. Compare was this one:

And one thing: normally photogs are on a endless search for new and better equipment. And so am I, until now. :-)
But at least at the moment, I quite fine with what I have. Sort of perfectly happy. :-)

This is my crude version of trying this out. It fits right over my nifty-fifty. Yes, they're Christmas lights.
