- Saint Petersburg (SPb), Russia
Taking a bit of a step back in time, I was able to spend a few wonderful nights in Russia's alternative and funky city, Saint Petersburg.
Not sure what it was about this place, but I got a pretty sweet vibe. Maybe it was the people I met and the pancakes I made, or the bars I went to and the Banana Beer called "Emo" that I tried.
At night from just the right apartment window, the city lights come on, and their colourful glory seen through the eyes of one very tired or drunk individual would probably look like this.
{Bokeh, originating from the Japanese word "Boke", is the aesthetically pleasing quality of the blur in an image}

NOTES
These lights in the background do not match really well with flash. So straight out of camera, the result is just yellowish and greenish, it really needs some treatment. I ended up with a desaturation and some split toning in Adobe Camera Raw to fix and match the colors. So this was a situation with mixed light sources, that did not work out so well (expect for the great bokeh). But there are other situations, in which the mixture ist just perfect. Compare was this one:

And one thing: normally photogs are on a endless search for new and better equipment. And so am I, until now. :-)
But at least at the moment, I quite fine with what I have. Sort of perfectly happy. :-)
Iron man behind the bokeh. The third and, maybe, the final in my Iron Man series. In a week or two IM will be sent to Panama to meet his greatest challange : my little godson Pepo! Good Luck, Tony.
