茶屋ケ坂公園のあじさい園へ。咲き始めの紫陽花の淡い色、好き。

Photo taken at Chayagasaka park, Chikusa ward, Nagoya city, Aichi pref.

This Hydrangea is one of the prettiest I have ever seen. I guess it has something to do with the circle of white flowers surrounding the blue blooms in the middle.

So..I ordered this hydrangea as a seedling from a catalog...and grew in a large pot...and it is doing quite well so far..and now is getting it's first flowers..here is one of them! Textured using a few different textures from JP Flypapers...!

Sort of. :-)

Back from the craziness that the past 3 weeks have been! I have SO much to catch up on, I will get there, promise.

When I'm done playing w/ my new iphone. Fun fun. :-)

The many colors of blue hydrangeas: 2 of an indeterminate number!

Grown by a neighbour, the variation in colour is astonishing.

Hydrangeas are wonderful, hardy shrubs that would certainly have to be included on a list of the ten best flowering plants in the world.

Hydrangeas are amazingly versatile in that you can actually alter the flower colours to suit your needs. The flower colour in most forms relates to the acidity or alkalinity of the soil.

In acid soil (pH 5 or less) hydrangeas are usually always blue.

As the soil pH climbs towards the neutral and alkaline end of the scale (pH 7 or more) hydrangeas turn mauve, pink and red.

and yes, a crazy hair day :))

Seen in the beautiful garden on Isola Bella, Borromean Islands.

Many hydrangeas were blooming, when we were there, mostly in blue and purple.

Many thanks for your visits / comments / faves!

I don't think there is any magnification to the image with extension tubes. But it does allow for a really close 'lens-to-subject' working distance and a super-shallow dof. The focusing ring was, at most, an inch away from the petals.

Thank you for the words of encouragement and comfort you sent my way. Your friendship really does make a difference. XOXO

Drizzle one morning motivated me to go out to the garden. Looks like Hydrangea liked it.

Putting your eggs all in one basket is like not taking opportunities when they present themselves. If they are all in one basket they seem safe and sound…so to speak. Not really…Spread things around a bit, take a risk, go through that open door, take a chance and explore other areas and interests. Opportunities arise right before our very eyes; we just have to be able to see them for what they are. At one point in my own life I tried to keep “my eggs” in one basket….it seemed the easiest thing to me…it felt safe…I was comfortable. But I could not control everything that was going on around me. Things changed, things were turned upside down and around. It was out of my control. My eggs were spilled out in many directions. Little did I know at the time; it was for the best. New opportunities were opened up to me; all I had to do was take that first step through that open door. When opportunity knocks…open up and let it in; but just make sure your eggs don’t get broken!

I’m thankful for the opportunities that I have come across in my life…some bad, some ok; some were great and still are…Either way my basket is still full even though I have spread my eggs around.

An old Hydrangea shot I never uploaded. Hope you like it!

Courtesy of my local Kroger...I always snap a pic After I've filled my gro cart. Edited in Topaz and framed in Picasa. Not sure about the framing.

2 weeks ago tomorrow, one of 'the gang' lost her frighteningly short and intense battle with that cruel disease 'Cancer'... tomorrow we have to say goodbye. these are the flowers the rest of us have gotten her - I didn't get a card, so decided tonight to paint one for her - my final gift - I think she would have approved and I hope she likes it. :-(

The colors and flowers of Summer warm my heart in the midst of Winter.

Hydrangeas have been one of my favourite flowers for years with their big mopheads and shiny leaves. The shrubs are wonderful with their large and profuse blooms. The Annabelles in my garden seem to like their location and have enormous heads which flop over each time it rains, the Pee Gees change in colour from the palest green to a deep rose in the fall and the Everlasting Summer bloom right up until frost.

These hydrangea came from the florist at the local grocery store. I saw bunches of them in a bucket and had to bring a bit of summer home.

Something to remember the blooms of summer by... but somehow appropriate as we head into the cool of winter...

It's simple; it's elegant. It takes about 5-6 heads of hydrangeas. This came out really nice! =)
