This piece was selected for exhibit at BearArtspace 2011, which was part of the Mardi Gras festival. This piece was also selected by the gallery on the promotional reel for the event.
The blue line is probably the most photogenic MBTA rapid transit line. The new trains (even though I don't like the design, they are new), renovated stations, striking blue color, and there's something extra cool about trains that say "Wonderland" on the destination sign (not this end, sorry...)
The blue line is underrepresented in my photostream though, probably because of the lack of a direct connection to the red line. (I can't say it's because I have no reason to ever to go to the area it serves, because since when has that ever stopped me?)

In a discussion in the Utata group mattie_shoes had put together a list of tags that the top interestingness pictures had in common:

I decided to see if those tags could get extra views on a photo that would obviously not fit most of it's criteria and is something that would likely not normally generate a lot of views.
The verdict?
After 24 hours only 2 of 16 views were generated by tag searches, the rest all were direct traffic likely from the discussion thread or through my contacts.
What significance does this have? None that I can really think of.
I have however grown to really love and appreciate this photo in the process and have decided to keep it online.

LOL, I just noticed in Flickrscout that this picture actually did make it to explore on the day that I posted it and added all those silly tags. It hit #383 on March 6th 2008...Hahahaha, my first and only picture in Explore. Odd thing is I am sure that I checked several times back when I posted the picture and Scout never picked it up.
Bluebells in Bury Hill Woodland, West Sussex.
I wanted to capture the bluebell in the foreground and the also the shades of blue in the bokeh and blur. So I used Gimp to 'colour select' in 'addition' mode to select all of the shades of blue in the flowers (this took about 30 minutes in all), increased the colour saturation. Inverted the selection and desaturated the background. Finally, adjusted the brightness and contrast of the desaturated background.
Came out pretty well.

derived from an autodrawing 'stream of unconsciousness'. This is an oil painting. The colored areas are intentually done to bring out the quality ot the orignial drawing which is automatic - hard to belive, I know. I should photograph the ink drawing so you can compare.

This "cute cat" photo was taken at the home of friends who live way out, without electricity. They have a nice collection of animals to photograph.
This random wig I put on him is growing on me... as is his face-up.

The female stood watch on the perch while the male washed off in our bird bath. It has been very dry here since early September so the birds welcome fresh water in the birdbath.
