I'm a little behind...but I'm finally catching up! I've just purchase a new camera, so I'm re-posting a couple of my blocks...much better lighting!

Another small module of the Ninjago collab my brother and I are doing!
None of these buildings are accurate copies of buildings from the TV show, but I took inspiration from it.
As you may imagine, the restaurant on the left was quite a pain to build!
Each story has an accessible interior:
Check out all the modules so far here!
All 30 of my Kaleidoscope blocks are finished! Half of them look like this! I was really pleased at at how well the points matched, good enough for me anyway! I was also really pleased at how flat these blocks were, I was worried! All I have to do is sew them together now! I can't wait to see what the finished layout will look like!

On Saturday, July 8, 2017, the FDNY celebrated its first summer Block Party at Station 52 in Queens.
Bitty Blocks for Group 2 Houses. Will be sending out on Monday so please choose if you want a special block.
For her blocks in Bee Unique Bee Knotty Deanna sent out some pretty earth-toned fabrics and asked for almost any 12.5" non-wonky block. She indicated that the black print was her inspiration/focus fabric.
This block is "Happy-Go-Lucky" from "Quiltmake's 100 Blocks Volume 3." It uses three different techniques -- paper piecing (for the four corner triangles with the brown star points,) templates (for the units containing the points of the centre star,) and then regular piecing. This is actually the first time I've ever used templates -- I was hard to maintain perfect accuracy after tracing the template to freezer paper and then cutting around it out of the fabric. I think that it turned out okay, though.
The walk-in shower in the master bath features a glass block wall with a 90-degree return so no shower door is needed. It looks beautiful and is very functional.

The FDNY EMTs were attending to an emergency ice cream situation in the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. Just chillin' in the ambo' afterward.
Illinois' home volleyball season started with a match against the defending champion Stanford - coached by Kevin Hambly, who had just left Illinois for Stanford.
The Illini stayed close, but fell 25-23, 25-23, 25-22. Here Stanford's Michaela Keefe manages to get the ball over a block set by the "jumping juniors," 1 Jordyn Poulter and 5 Ali Bastianelli. Both Poulter and Bastianelli were named to the AVCA All-American Third Team this year after both earned an Honorable Mention last year.
Thanks ladies for all of the awesome blocks! (I have two extras that I am planning to put on the back.) I think my mama is going to love this!

Auf dem Blog ist noch ein zweites "Farbbeispiel".
Set of blocks I made for my son. Nine cubes, each face reveals a different letter of the alphabet. Letters are grouped to maximize the number of words that can be spelled, with a slight tweak to allow my son to spell his own name.
Private message me if you're interested in a set of your own.

Two more blocks - yellow and yellow-orange. The two colors aren't as distinct as I would have liked, but oh, well. :)
The plan is to use Connie (Freemotion by the River's) QAYG tutorial for finishing them off www.conniekresin.com/2013/03/qayg-tutorial-ra

I really liked the retro color scheme from the book, so I duplicated it as best as I could. My first totally mitered square block.
I will add a ring to the corner and use it as a potholder.
