Let the gossip begin...

My regular stop for a quick bowl of local beef noodle especially.. less than 4km from home !!

With a side of Jalapeno and Garlic French Bread cubes to soak up the gravy :-))

I had a request to show the results of the previous shot of ingredients for beef jerky, so here it is. Just over 1 Kg of beef reduced to less than 1/2 Kg. But it still makes a nice pile of snack food.Still trying to dial in this recipe, this batch was supposed to be hot, but wasn't, and it could have used more salt (my previous batch was way too salty so I reduced the amount). So somewhere in between...

BTW, the plate is a plastic Christmas plate we use for serving snacks, etc that we have not put away yet.

Soft, tender, and full-flavored beef tenderloin coated with minced mushrooms and delicately wrapped in an artisanal buttery shortcut pastry. A perfect addition to your Holiday gathering or an excellent choice to delight your guests and loved ones. As Gordon Ramsey puts it, Beef Wellington is the "ultimate indulgence".

Well, there isn’t much of a choice here as I see it. Nobody likes a naked cow.

I want my beef dressed. I am thinking a pink tutu and a bright red halter top with a nice scarf to accent the ensemble. The only question is the footwear. I don’t think ballerina slippers would be practical on a cow.. not with the field full of manure. I guess I’ll go with combat boots.

Think how much money some of these people are going to spend to have their cow dressed in formal wear. The cheapest outfit on the Beef’s ‘Dressed List’ is a two piece bathing suit because there is less material. But, if you are going to go with that the cow might as well be naked.

Happy Smile on Saturday.

I took this shot on four different camera settings just to see what I would get. And then beefed up the colours in iphoto. I couldn't decide which I liked best. So feck it. Here they are - you choose!!

My first grilling session of the summer (not of the year, I grill all winter as well). These are beef ribs, almost as big as those in the Flintstones. For some reason, the butcher cut these into shorter segments, as though he was going to cut short ribs and then changed his mind. But they were more manageable than a full sized rack, so it worked out well.

My first sight of one of these.
