These falls are part of Waterfall Creek and the canyon that it flows through.

Another gem in this area that is worth the hike and side track – and a lot less mosquitos!

There are many spring flowers along the path as you walk into the falls.

Named after Don Nesbitt, a legendary local resident.

Lady Falls is a beautiful waterfall on Cervus Creek, plunging about 27m (90 ft) from a small slot canyon into a deep canyon. From the viewing platform you can feel the mist from the waterfall on your face (or on your camera lens)

Strathcona Park, designated in 1911, is the oldest provincial park in British Columbia.

In the valleys and lower regions of Strathcona are forest stands that were already old when Captain James Cook of Britain’s Royal Navy landed at Nootka Sound in 1778, on the west coast of Vancouver Island a few kilometres from what is now the western boundary of the park. ~ BC Parks ~

Happy New Year to all of you and the best wishes for 2023!!

About this photo: My first photo outing of December was a few days ago. In the beginning of December I couldn’t get out of my back alley due to a lot of snow and my low car, then we all got a bad cold and after that we got another big dump of snow and I was stuck again. I did enjoy taking some snow/winter photos in my neighbourhood when possible.

The snow has been melting away since Christmas and is just about gone now. We had so much rain since Christmas as well, so finally today was a decent day to go somewhere for sunset/evening shots. This is a zoomed in view of downtown after sunset taken on that evening from Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Some information about Vancouver: Vancouver is known as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Vancouver is Canada's third largest city and is located by the Pacific Ocean on a peninsula surrounded by water and in the distance there are the mountains. Vancouver is considered a pretty clean and safe city with a great variety of shops, museums, theatre, outdoor activities (hiking, walking, kayaking, sailing, skiing on the local mountains in the winter) and more. Walking around Stanley Park is a favourite thing to do for tourist and locals alike. This beautiful park extends from the city centre of Vancouver almost to the North Shore. With wonderful views of the mountains and the ocean around every corner, downtown Vancouver is one of the most picturesque cities in the world. Walk along Robson Street, the most popular shopping street. Experience Chinatown with the different kinds of building and stores, walk on the beaches of English Bay and the seawall of Stanley Park, enjoy a walk in Gastown with the old steam clock and the many gift shops.

Look out for some Hollywood film sets as Vancouver is used for many big Hollywood movies and shows. That's why you might hear that Vancouver is called "Hollywood North". Here are some examples of shows and movies that were/are filmed here: "Deadpool 1 & 2", "The X-Files", "The Good Doctor", "Colony", "Arrow", "The Flash", "Supernatural", "Stargate-SG1", "The 6th Day", "Kiss of the Dragon", "Small Ville" and many many more. Then there is also the Canada Place, the stadiums, the Harbour Lookout, the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, Science World, the Vancouver Art Gallery and much more! All of these attractions are located within minutes from the city centre.

Vancouver is also popular in the winter for winter activities. There are 3 local mountains where you can do any type of winter sport. There is Grouse Mountain, most famous for it's stunning views over the city and fresh powder snow. Grouse Mountain is accessible by skyride...this is a big gondola that will take you up to the top of the mountain. Mount Seymour and Cypress Mountain are famous too and you also get wonderful views from the top of these mountains. As you can see...Vancouver has lots to offer. The Winter Olympics were held here in 2010 as well.

It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon our hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

Once a year Stubbs Island aka Clayoquot Island, is open to the public for two days (the rest of the year it is closed to the public).

It is a wonderful experience to spend an afternoon wandering the beaches, forest boardwalks and the beautiful gardens. The island's pioneer gardens along with the huge and abundant rhododendrons have been extensively restored and enhanced from their early beginnings with the loving care of gardener Sharon Whalen and her partner.

The island’s owner, Susan Bloom, donated the wild portion of the island to see it kept as a nature preserve for the long term to the Nature Conservancy of Canada.

Cascading down from Cassel Lake, these falls drop 30m (98.4 ft) straight into the ocean at high tide.

Located on West Redonda Island, which is one of the Discovery Islands that lies between central Vancouver Island and the B.C. mainland in Desolation Sound.

This park is accessed via boat only, the 128 ha (316 acre) Teakerne Arm Provincial Park includes a portion of Cassel Lake which is 91 ha (225 acres) in size with 7.4 km (4.6mi) of shoreline.

There was a forest fire next to the falls on the right side in August 2016 and it has just started to get some growth back.

I will be heading to Hong Kong and Taiwan by the end of October. I have a very mixed feeling for this trip. On one hand, I really look forward to my brother, my parents, and friends. On the other hand, the protest in Hong Kong isn't getting any better.

Whenever I read the news, there isn't any happy one regarding to Hong Kong current situation. It is all about people in Hong Kong getting arrested and/or injured. I just hope that there is a turning point soon as it seems that there is no end to it at the moment :(

Pitt Meadows, BC Canada

The Thompson Mountain Range rises along the Pitt Meadows's northeast edge. Pitt Meadows is protected from flooding by 64 kilometres of dikes which provide a multi-use trail system alongside the farmland and marshes, and offer views of the mountains to the North.

Surrounded by sweeping views of the Berrylands in Pitt Polder with some of the most scenic backdrops BC has to offer.

Nestled in the Thompson Mountains, the spectacular views draw crowds from far and wide. This hidden gem in Pitt Meadows welcomes everyone to come and view it!

Named for a clerk on the Royal Navy’s vessel “Herald” which surveyed Sooke Harbour in 1846, the spit protects the harbour from the breakers coming in the Juan De Fuca Strait from the Pacific Ocean. Tall ships sailed through the far channel to carry lumber from the Muir Mill to distant ports during the latter half of the 19th century.

Going through some photos from earlier this year while working on a project and came across a few that I felt worthy of sharing.

First fall colours spotted along the Stanley Park seawall in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

About this photo: Fall has officially begun, but we are still enjoying some summer like weather here in Vancouver, BC, Canada. It has been quite a sunny and warm September and it has been fairly warm and sunny for October so far as well with temperatures around 20-25C/68-77F. But I am sure the wet fall weather will be upon us soon enough. I enjoyed a walk in Stanley Park at the end of September and was happy to see some fall colours already! I can't wait for fall to be in full swing.

I took this photo along the Stanley Park seawall with a view of downtown in Vancouver, BC, Canada. 🍁🍂🍁🍂

Another touch of spring - today I had some wet snow, wind, sun and rain while in Shawnigan Lake - every corner gave us something different.
