A bare mature Ash tree, long shadows and strong winter afternoon sunshine on the way to Van Farm, Thorpe, Teesdale
I was sitting in the parking lot at the grocery store, when this bare tree caught my eye. Photo is taken through the blue glass at the top of the windshield, that was covered in raindrops.
Taken 7 February 2016, in the Charente countryside.

Our Boxing Day jaunt included a walk around Langford Lakes. There weren't many birds around ... a few cormorants and loads of Canada geese. But there were lots of lovely bare trees and some nice reflections.

I really like this kind of snow. It's enough to make everything bright and clean, but not enough to impede driving.
They have let this one-noble tree in the pasture of the Tinker Homestead stand. The shrubs that have grown up all around it seem to be protected the the bare tree. The tree may have more personality now as a skeleton than when it was living.
See next picture of the berries on the protector trees. Do you know what it is?

(25/365) This is a sycamore tree in our front yard. It stands around 60 feet (29 m) tall, more or less. As I got home this afternoon I liked the way this was silhouetted against the fading sky - just after sunset with mostly cloudy skies. This is looking southwest towards where the sunset was.

Towards Hutton Magna from Van Farm, Teesdale in winter sunshine after a heavy snowfall the previous day. A mature Ash tree silhouette in the hedgerow stands out nicely.
