I honestly have no idea why I love this shot so much, but there's something very appealing about it that draws me in.

So when I was reviewing today's photos I kept coming back to this one trying to figure out what it was I loved about it.

I think it's the tones and mood to it, along with the lines, but whatever it is, it's today's photo!

Hope everyone has had a good day.

Oh, and thank you to everyone who has been asking / messaging about Madeleine's cat (pictured two days ago), the news wasn't good, cancer. But most likely a treatable kind, so fingers crossed little Laisa takes to the medication.

Yet another place my dog brought me to on our daily walks. She seems to have developed a sense for things that have a certain forlorn quality that so appeals to me. This abandoned birdhouse just looked sad, having come to rest like Auntie Em's house after being spit out by the tornado in the Wizard of Oz. I have no idea how it ended up here.

Happy Boxing Day my lovely Flickr Friends.

I hope you all had a wonderful day yesterday.

Christmas in the Land of the Laid Back Deweys followed our usual tradition ... tea and presents (but not too early in the morning), then a bit of lazing around, then off to Salisbury Plain for our peaceful meander around the byways.

We've been lucky in recent years, because we've had quite a few bright Christmas Days, that have afforded us lots of photo ops.

Yesterday was NOT bright. Yesterday was grey, with a bit more grey and some drizzle thrown in.

But it was still fun. We still laughed at our own jokes, gave each other copious amounts of cheek, and we even got a few photographs. For me photography-wise, it was a day of trees in the mist ....

November 28, 2014: I took a drive around, with a cup of hot tea, to enjoy my birthday snow when this moment happened. Happy winter solstice!

During this pandemic, I have decided to take several of my images and play around with creating more "painterly" type presentations. This is one of Lake Wassookeag in Central Maine Highlands. (image A9496) Please also visit: acadiamagic.com.

I took this one on my way to pick up the dog at the kennel this evening. I wish I'd had a tripod with me and knew how to do HDR because the blue light on the snow in the fields was amazing, as was the sky!

Replaced once because I fiddled with the lighting a bit in photoshop to bring out the snow on the ground.

"And now in autumn time ...

I leave you but return to you. When you see my power fade and the leaves fall from the trees. When snow obliterates like death and all traces of me upon the Earth, then look for me inside the moon and there in the heavens you will see the soul of me soaring still amongst the stars. And in the darkest time when the moon is covered by shadow and there is no trace of Me in Heaven or on Earth; when you look outward and your life seems cold, dark and barren, let not despair eat at your hearts.

For I am hidden. I am renewing when I am waning. I am readying for return." From Wicca: Old Religion for a New Age by Vivianne Crowley

The warmth of the sun is fading away and could not melt all the ice on this day.

Thank you to everybody that views, comments and for favouring my images. Always greatly appreciated.

Captured just before the sun went behind the hill, it had been cloudy all weekend but the sun came out late in the afternoon on Sunday. We drove over to one of our favorite spots nearby, Lake Atalanta, to catch the last light.
