Probably my last sighting of waxwings for the year. This one was taking a rest from gorging on rose hips in the spring sunshine.
Balancing Act - Pulled this image from 6 years ago. Not a subject I photograph frequently, but a very elegant species. The new software really brings old files to life.

This Mallard was enjoying the setting sun and record high temperature. The water here would normally be frozen.
This was one of those incredible moments, the sun setting over a ice-blue glacier galoon, lighting up the clouds overhanging the glaciers in the distance.
For me, this shot is in amazing conditions, but lacks a little bit of balance and flow.
Jimmy crack corn and I don't cairn! (rim shot). Someone left a little something something @ Buttermilk falls. I thought it looked good against the fall colors.

Just having a bit of fun with close-up photography... This time I wanted to see if I could capture a good shot of this egg before it tumbled off the forks.
Fortunately no eggs were harmed in the making of this image! ;)

"Egg-cellent Balance" is a non-HDR image that was processed using a combination of ACR, Photoshop, and Topaz Labs plugins (Adjust, AI Clear, Denoise, Glow, Impression and Texture Effects).
Balancing - Last light at Pentre Ifan, with the huge capstone balancing on the tips of three other stones as it has since Neolithic times.
The largest and best preserved Neolithic monument in Wales, Pentre Ifan dates from approximately 3,500 BC marking the site of an ancient burial chamber. Of the 7 principal stones still standing the huge 5 metre capstone weighing approximately 16 tonnes and resting 2.5 metres off the ground on the tips of three other stones is the dramatic reminder of the ingenuity and resourcefulness of the Neolithic people that built this monument.

Aquarium in the museum with crabs next to the fire extinguisher ;-) ... it is not only taken with the cell phone* but also compared with the exhibition brochure, the Japanese visitors are very eager and conscientious in the art viewing ...
* every step is shared with the girlfriends and discussed via cell phone and coordinated, no matter whether just trying on a dress, or a little something is bought, or seen, or as here, a work of art thought ...
you know that when you have a daughter ;-) ...
Aquarium im Museum mit Krabben neben dem Feuerlöscher ;-) ... es wird nicht nur mit dem Handy* aufgenommen, sondern auch mit dem Ausstellungsbroschüre verglichen, die japanischen Besucher sind sehr eifrig und gewissenhaft in der Kunstbetrachtung ...
* jeder Schritt wird mit den Freundinnen geteilt und via Handy besprochen und abgestimmt, egal ob gerade ein Kleid anprobiert wird, oder eine Kleinigkeit gekauft, oder gesehen wird, oder wie hier, ein Kunstwerk Gedanken macht ...
man weiß das, wenn man eine Tochter hat ;-) ...
