You have previously seen this tree (see comments) and the one it frames. This time I had to get close because the westering sun was on the right, and I needed to block it out to prevent sun flares. I wanted the backlight (partly sidelight) on the framed, smaller tree.

Today we found a very hidden and difficult to access pond full of dragonflies not far from where we live and took some macro pictures with a small camera just to see. We will be back!

A walk in Lowther Castle grounds on another dank miserable rainy day. Down by the river the low sun came out and lit up this little spot in the woods.
only half a hour later a heavy thunderstorm hit this mountain -
so the rain from the clouds were prealerts. Luckily i was faster than the storm and already back in the valley.
Experiment when backlighting a tree dec with an old M42 lens!
(And no, you (probably) haven’t been drinking too much brandy)

I went out to play with color and light and tulips were my subject. Bringing more that 200 frames home made it very difficult to choose which one to post on flickr. So I post the 3 I like the best.
