Well its that time when having done a few weeks of coming back to work gradually, its back to the old days and 3 days of meetings in Paris to discuss my "next steps" following my unfortunate brush with illness in West Africa back in /June.
Its not recommended that I return to Ghana or any West African country for a while due to the time my body needs to completely recover, but its great to be fit and well again.
I used the break to try and remember the many types of photography I enjoy, with varying success, but I'll miss my mates at Wetlands and the deer parks, plus not least the fellow photographers have met in this time and am indebted to their friendship and assistance over the past few months.
Had a blast in Swanage last night at the Blues Festival (some good artists there) then hopped on a puddle-jumper this afternoon to Paris.

Carmel-by-the-Sea, often called simply Carmel, is a small city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated in 1916. Situated on the Monterey Peninsula, the town is known for its natural scenery and rich artistic history. In 1906, the San Francisco Call devoted a full page to the "artists, poets and writers of Carmel-by-the-Sea", and in 1910 it reported that 60 percent of Carmel's houses were built by citizens who were "devoting their lives to work connected to the aesthetic arts." Early City Councils were dominated by artists, and the town has had several mayors who were poets or actors, including Herbert Heron, founder of the Forest Theater, bohemian writer and actor Perry Newberry, and actor-director Clint Eastwood, who was mayor for one term, from 1986 to 1988.
The town is known for being dog-friendly, with numerous hotels, restaurants and retail establishments admitting guests with dogs. Carmel is also known for several unusual laws, including a prohibition on wearing high-heel shoes without a permit, enacted to prevent lawsuits arising from tripping accidents caused by irregular pavement.[3]
Carmel-by-the-Sea is located on the Pacific coast, about 330 miles (530 km) north of Los Angeles and 120 miles (190 km) south of San Francisco. As of the 2010 census, the town had a total population of 3,722, down from 4,081 at the 2000 census.
Carmel-by-the-Sea experiences a cool summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification Csb) typical of coastal areas of California. The wet season is from October to May, and summers are often overcast, the sun blocked by marine layer clouds which can produce drizzle. September and October (Indian Summer) offer the best weather of the year, with an average high of 72° F. The average annual rainfall in Carmel-by-the-Sea is 25 inches per year and the average temperature is 57 degrees F.

Back lane of two terraces, unsure of which ones. Access to all of the back alleys was restricted by tall, locked gates. The lens wouldn't fit through the hole in gate, hence the small vignetting effect around the edge. Jigger is apparently the Liverpool slang for the back lane between two terraces.
The streets around Anfield were spookily quiet - too quiet. Amongst the derelict, boarded-up houses, there was the occasional looked-after inhabited house.
Perhaps the strangest moment was passing a house where workmen were busy ripping out its internals, and just yards down the same street was an elderly gentleman taking great pride in tending to the hedge in his front yard.
The old man look at the two young guys who are his future but who are at the same time its past, what he had been
