I AM BACK!!!!!
For the last month and few more weeks, I've been only studying for my highschool exam and lately I've been kept losing sleep..but! During those hard times, I tried to fold something out as possible, so here it is! Another version of Hydralisk! :D
Since I spend most of my time in school, I wasn't able to create anything so complicated, so I chose traditional bases(ex) bird base, frog base, etc) for my new design.. this hydralisk is folded from pure Blintz Frog Base and I'm really proud of it because the way I used to fold this model with that base is quite unique!
This is why I like to design my models with traditional bases! Even though the base might be seen as 'limited', as what you can see from my hydralisk design, it isn't actually 'limited' and the process of making those bases appropriate for the subjects is interesting, it's like making something out of nothing.. :)
Anyway, I've been retired from origami for a long time so the model might not look so good but I hope you guys like it...!!

Once upon a time. Our last voyage (tour) back to Vung Tau, Vietnam.
Thirty or so years before I found myself in another world of difference and 'frocking-up', was far from my mind.
Yet still I am not really posing but 'front and centre' in this video from 1972. My ship, the Destroyer, Vampire coming up alongside the empty Aircaft Carrier Sydney to refuel.

That's me, on the Bridge Deck/Flag Deck. sending a Semaphore message from my Captain, to the Captain of HMAS Sydney.
Our last tour back to Vietnam to load and take on the troops, the Army and machinery and bring them home. because the 10 years of war we engaged in. we lost and it was over.
Regardless of the outcome, the HMAS Vampire was a Bat Out Of Hell and she was beautiful. She was my home and and off, for four years and how comforting it was to be just part of the crew.

It's not uncommon to find food stalls in some of Japans' popular temples and shrines. This just happened to be the case when I visited the Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto Japan. Kyoto is a special city, not only does it feel like an old town brought into 21st century, the people there often dress up to match! When I saw this scene while walking up to the main shrine, I just had to take a snap, felt like I was looking into a old Japan.

After almost two weeks, the hummingbird chicks were almost full-fledged. They kept their mother extreme busy. She needed to fly back and forth many times to keep them well-feeded.
I have been gone for a bit. The holiday season got hectic, and then I went to France with my family! It was a lovely trip, though I didn't get to shop as much as I'd have liked to because the dollar is worth a paper clip and a clump of lint next to the euro.

Finally getting around to taking some new photos of Maggie now that she is back to her normal self, after having been spayed saturday. It's great to have my kitty back to normal!
That was one exciting morning. Tx Gary for trying to get my attention when I returned to the initial spot where we spot it and lost it again. It sure made us walk around.

Exiting the Grand Bazaar through a small exit at the rear. A different view of the city was to be had.
Its always great to see a different aspect of a city. If you are wondering I came out from the arch on the right through a metalworking yard, up the steps and out through another arch into the road.

The LSF54 Local rolls south thru Normal, IL after working the north end of the Joliet Sub.
I spent two hours driving around Bloomington-Normal looking for any kind of train or locomotive to photograph while my wife was shopping. I gave up in disgust and went back to the mall to hang with the Mrs. That, of course, was when the scanner came to life with Dispatcher 28 calling this guy to see how they wanted to yard their train in Bloomington. I barely made it back to the tracks in downtown Normal to bag this shot.
