This bus - of course - used to be on TFL contracted services out of Garston depot but has since moved on to run commercial services from Aylesbury so it's use on Rail Rep means it has returned, albeit temporarily, to TFL service!

though, this scene is very common and natural there, here 3 images are mixed well to create the right atmosphere.

The crossing place of the E.Dart.First the ford,then the stepping stones,then the clapper bridge and finally the 19thC road bridge.
Floods have washed away some of the clapper slabs.

Villa Torlonia, Roma.
Il bunker antiaereo più importante d’Italia, realizzato tra il 1942 e il 1943 per proteggere Benito Mussolini e la sua famiglia nella residenza privata di Villa Torlonia a Roma, il Rifugio nella sala centrale del piano seminterrato del Casino Nobile e il Rifugio cantina della Villa attrezzato intorno alla metà del 1940.
La struttura blindata del bunker, costruita ex novo, fu scavata ad una profondità di 6 metri e mezzo sotto il piazzale antistante il Casino Nobile; ha una planimetria a forma di croce e gallerie a sezione circolare protette da una copertura in cemento armato spessa 4 metri. Il bunker, la cui costruzione iniziò a fine 1942, rimase incompiuto poiché quando Mussolini fu destituito e arrestato (il 25 luglio del 1943) i lavori di rifinitura non erano terminati. Mancavano le porte blindate, la copertura esterna del pozzo e le dotazioni tecnologiche (come il sistema di aerazione). I ritardi furono determinati dalle difficoltà incontrate nello scavo: il terreno vicino al palazzo si rivelò di scarsa consistenza e ciò comportò la necessità di realizzare le fondamenta ad una profondità doppia rispetto al previsto. Se fosse stato completato, sarebbe stato il bunker italiano con il più alto grado di resistenza dedicato alla protezione di una singola personalità.
Il bunker e il rifugio del Casino Nobile furono recuperati e aperti al pubblico per la prima volta nel 2006 e chiusi dopo un breve periodo a causa della presenza nei locali di gas radon. Dopo alcuni interventi strutturali e di bonifica, questi luoghi, continuamente monitorati, possono accogliere i visitatori in completa sicurezza.

This amazing landscape that i i can not get enough of! Just got back after driving 4 days..been living in my car :) Now i need to catch up at home and so on before i can sort my files from this trip. See you all soon!
A trip out along the Great Ridge from Mam Tor to Back Tor, to try to shoot the lonely tree against a fiery sunset. Didn't quite get the colours, but the clouds put on quite a display. I ended up spending about 3 hours at this spot, getting many variations on this view point.

Last night, I posted a "portrait" of the Egyptian uromastyx, to show what it looks like, uninfluenced by light or camera angle. Now, a few shots showing its more dinosaur-like personality.
I walked to the very back of a bean field and sat on a ridge....it's often more interesting to get off the roads and see how the land is laid out.

Driving through the Saguaro lined desert back roads in the San Pedro River Valley, NE of Tucson Arizona. The snow capped Galiuro Mountains can be seen in the distance.

Bartolomeo Vivarini (Venice, around 1430 - after 1491) - Madonna and Child with Saints (1487) Bernardo Chapel - Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari - Venice
Sull’altare, entro una ricca ed elegante cornice, forse di Jacopo da Faenza, il bel polittico di Bartolomeo Vivarini rappresenta la Vergine in trono con il Bambino sulle ginocchia, attorniata da quattro Santi: alla sua destra S. Andrea e, accanto a lui, S. Nicola; alla sua sinistra S. Paolo e S. Pietro. La Madonna in trono inclina la testa verso il bambino, seduto sopra un cuscino bianco appoggiato alla gamba della Vergine dal viso mesto, quasi leggesse profeticamente la conclusione della vita del figlio. Una tenda di colore verde bruno copre in parte il dorsale marmoreo del trono. Un vaso è posato sul pavimento ed è pieno di erba verde. Nella cimasa è raffigurato il Cristo morto tra i simboli del sepolcro e della croce con l’iscrizione INRI che si staglia nettamente su un cielo rannuvolato.
On the altar, between a rich and elegant cornice, probably sculpted by Jacopo from Faenza, there is a beautiful polyptych signed by Bartolom eo Vivarini (1487). It represents the Virgin Enthroned with the Child on her knees, surrounded by four Saints: on the right of the Madonna, St. Andrew and next to him St. Nicholas. On the left of the Madonna, St. Peter and St. Paul. In the centre there is a painting of the Madonna Enthroned who is leaning towards the child, sat on a white cushion which rests against the Virgin’s leg. The Virgin’s expression is one of sadness, as though She is anticipating the end of Her Son’s life. A dark green drape covers the back of the marble throne. There is a vase on the floor full of green herbs. In the cyma is the Dead Christ between the symbols of the sepulchre and the cross with the inscription INRI which stands out against a clouded sky.
