Under the new ownership of Cloburn Quarry Company Ltd, Ravenstruther Rail Terminal is once again back in business after many, many years of no freight traffic.
On Monday the 4th of April 2022, 66554 is photographed at Ravenstruther Rail Terminal having just worked 6K60 from Thornton Terminal Complex (T.C.) with Freightliner back at one of there old haunts. The train comprising of 30 MHA/MFA EWS Coalfish wagons has just been propelled from the headshunt onto the loading point.
Later on in the evening the fully loaded train ran to Millerhill S.S., 3 hours 44 minutes early via a run round at Mossend. The ballast is eventually ending up along the Levenmouth Branch Line which is currently being reinstated.
A welcome sight indeed but also a rather strange one seeing a Freightliner Class 66 and even just a freight train back at Ravenstruther.

Looking back on the part of the Cabot Trail I had just come from, Gulf of St. Lawrence on the right.

The Cabot Trail is considered one of the world's most scenic road trips, with stunning views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence, waterfalls, beaches, and the mysterious Cape Breton Highlands.
The Cabot Trail measures 298 km (185 mi) in length and completes a loop around the northern tip of Cape Breton Island. It is named after the explorer John Cabot who landed in Atlantic Canada in 1497.
Like many places in this old city, the intersection of Berkeley and Stanhope Streets in the Back Bay has history hidden in plain sight. Though the Liberty Mutual Tower from 2013 at 157 Berkeley Street dominates the view, its neighbors are arguably much more interesting. At 154 Berkeley Street is the AKA Hotel, which opened in 1925 and served as the Boston Police Headquarters until their move in 1997. At 209 Columbus Avenue is the former Youth's Companion Magazine Building, designed by Hartwell and Richardson, which opened in 1892 and where the United States Pledge of Allegiance was born. Had my first girly day since I decided to have a break back in July. Great to be getting my girl on again, and I had loads of new stuff to try on which is always fun. Lots more pics to come!

An unfairly derogatory caption, to be honest. The Jamaica Wine House, known locally as "the Jampot", is located in St Michael's Alley, Cornhill, in the heart of London's financial district in the City of London.
It was the first coffee house in London and was visited by the English diarist Samuel Pepys in 1660. It is now a Grade II listed public house (pub) and is set within a labyrinth of mediaeval courts and alleys.
It should be no surprise that an old place with such a name has historic links with the sugar trade and slave plantations of the West Indies and Turkey. There is a plaque on the wall which reads 'Here stood the first London Coffee house at the sign of the Pasqual Rosee's Head 1652.' Pasqua Rosée, the proprietor was the servant of a Levant Company merchant named Daniel Edwards, a trader in Turkish goods, who imported the coffee and assisted Rosée in setting up the establishment. The coffee house, which opened in 1652, is known in some accounts as The Turk's Head.
The building that currently stands on the site is a 19th-century public house. This pub's licence was acquired by Shepherd Neame and the premises were reopened after a restoration that finished in April 2009. Today, it features a wood-panelled bar with three sections on the ground floor, and downstairs an elegant restaurant.
On my recent road trip I was driving on the main road in Arches National Park when I rounded a bend and caught sight of this rock formation. I wonder if Mother Nature was telling me something as overcast skies moved in and cancelled my sunset shoot.
I moved sideways into clouds and skies for this series. This could be a "hard hat" storm out east. Keep your "rock" umbrella as ready as I keep my rock skis ready for the early season. Finally, the fairgrounds really approached twilight's end for last summer's carny; I am ready for the rides to pop. This cloud was a feast of captures. Clouds do this as the atmosphere vastly expands after compressing, cooling and clearing the Rockies from the west. I liked this sky but there are degrees. I figured folks on the eastern plains, Colorado, Kansas and Oklahoma, better go for the hard hats. Black is the new blue.
No global warming under here; no global warming under there! People won't continue to believe the TheRump's lies after FEMA is broke. This will soon be a thumper and those folks will need to flash the sign of the cross to the heavens. That fossil-fueled summer heated up our atmosphere and with 8% more atmospheric moisture trigger smack downs worl d wide! Insurance companies declare events as acts of god instead of global warming for obvious reasons. They don't have payouts if they can blame god. It's more important to stage a WWIII even before our regular scheduled mass extinction. Few southern conservatives are listening. "The extinction won't be televised," Gil Scott Heron. Well... scientists said the weather would be more violent as the climate warmed. The heating increased humidity in the atmosphere by 8%. Here we are, we have met the enemy and he is us.

This dress, as I mentioned earlier, is no more. It was a total write off shortly after taking it off here. Big rips due to its very delicate material. Funnily enough, I just lost another dress this week. The back zip was totally stuck (I think it was damaged as it was too small for me that night). An oddly arousing feeling being stuck in a dress. I'm glad it wasn't a favourite or that I wasn't in a changing room at the time. This is the one (www.flickr.com/photos/61636721@N06/49579211516/in/datepos...) I managed to squeeze out of the dress, but the zip is totally stuck! I'm usually good with zips, but that dress with the bad zip and and this dress here seems to be very beyond any help. More room in the wardrobe then!
It was so funny to see two female Merganzers hanging around a large group of Mallards and getting quite snippy when they felt too crowded!!! Usually when Merganzers get one look at you they take off asap, but these two were just part of the crowd!

A view that typifies the narrow back streets of the larger cities in Malta. There is usually plenty of colour, most houses sport colourful balconies, everything is built of warm sandstone and Land Rover Defenders are still plentiful.
This weekend we went to Beekbergen. There you have all different old trains. Anoek was really impressed of how big they are

I'm fresh back from a road trip through the Eastern Sierra and Death Valley. Whenever I head through Lone Pine, it's hard not to stop at the famous Mobius Arch for a quick sunrise shot. It's low hanging fruit, it's been shot to death, and it's challenging to get a moderately original composition at this spot. This morning's sunrise, however, lent itself to a slightly different framing than most people go for, and it balanced the composition nicely. While this photo could have easily been captured at f/11 or f/13 and maintained depth of field, I decided to focus stack four frames at f/8 for maximum detail at large print sizes.
Back on the stairs..!! I love Hell Bunny clothing, blouse teamed with pencil skirt, fishnets and Mary Jane stilettos..💋💋

Strolling the back streets of Langton a short while back, trying to get a good viewpoint of this kiln, at the Albion Works King Street.
Both the 2 ovens and the chimney are listed buildings.

Sorry to my Flickr Friends... I will be back soon and I will catch up with your wonderful images but I've been really poorly, yesterday was Mothers Day here in England, my favourite day of the year and my Son and Husband had so much planned for me and I missed the whole day as I was so ill and instead they took great care of me here at home. I was taken ill on Friday and by Saturday I realised I had the NoroVirus, yesterday came close to going to hospital as I was not recovering, I have been flat out and semi conscious with this terrible virus. Only today is my first day where I am starting to eat and drink again, feeling very weak and poorly and so I share an image I took last week and at some point in the next few days I will catch up with your images, thank you, Debbie :)
