I'v been wanting to make a photographic research of the Oporto's inner city back yards for years now. It's one of the city's best kept secrets. I will make of this picture a starting point.

They're back!! Our friendly neighborhood owl has returned to our pine tree to have another round of chicks. It's always a delight to see the owlettes jumping around the branches of the tree until they are ready to go off on their own. How many owls do you see in this shot?
I was amazed when I noticed how straight this roe deer's back is - couldn't have drawn it better with a ruler.

The classic BLE tunnel motors are seen doing the helper honors up Byron hill on the CN. Manned helpers and cool power on a class 1 is a great combination

Yesterday I've tried to go back to all the contacts and comments that were left during the past year but after 2 hours I finally gave up, so I'm starting fresh, it will be great to see what all you guys are up to!!
I wanted to get a shot of the Aquilegia in my garden before they went over but it's been too breezy the last few days to get anything properly focused so had to go back to basics & bring one indoors :)
Taken a few years ago on a trip to the Northern California coast. That trip was my first sighting of these pretty little birds.

The last from me of this superb little bird. What a fantastic opportunity we have all had over the past few days to get up close and personal. A first for me and I'm sure many others.
Up at Back Tor on Derwent Edge yesterday afternoon, and the usual focal points and compositions fell by the wayside as the snow drifts were far more visually appealing.
ACB4405 & ACB4401 back in action and back where they along in WA! seen on 5049 loaded MRL ore from Mt Walton seen here at Wattleup. These units plus ACB4401 were recently transferred back from Hunter Valley NSW to WA to come back on real trains to help out due to shortage of locos

In a big storm in 2003 one of the Three Sisters disappeared. A few years later a new third sister popped out of the eroding cliff face (right).
