UP 587 is seen in the evening crawling east to Truckee at Casa Loma. That same morning, 587 had made a westbound run from Truckee to Roseville with two other GP38s. Those other motors would be dropped off in Roseville then the 587 would turn around and head east back to Truckee.
I had a somewhat crazy idea to try and make a sunrise in Torridon this morning. Thankfully Iain made me see sense, along with the realisation I would need to be leaving home around 0145! However, the thought that I hadn't really made the effort to shoot either sunrise or sunset, at least not successfully, for several months was playing on my mind so when I woke just before 0400 and there was a hint of colour in the sky, I grabbed my gear and headed down to Findhorn's back shore. I think the colour was already waning well before I arrived and the tide was a little further out than hoped but it was still a good feeling to have given it a go and a brief burst of sunlight as it broke through a cloud layer gave me something for my efforts.
At the end of this week I will be moving back to Japan to teach English, which means that my dolls have to go into storage for the next year or so (actually breaks my heart). This time I'm going to Mobara, Chiba which I'm super happy about. I wanted a Chiba placement so bad!
Although my dolls are going into storage, I am planning to take Hayden and Shunsuke with me because I missed Hayden so badly last time I can't leave without him again.
For the next short while until I get settled and have internet again, there won't be any pictures. This is only temporary though! I love photographing my dolls more than anything.

This is a back burn operation in the Hawkesbury, NSW, Australia. We are approaching spring and summer with little significant rainfall and a fuel load that could be disastrous. I saw the potential for some late afternoon photography and took my chances.
This particular image is an 8 shot vertical HDR pano that I have edited in LR & PS.
Western Australia has some of the most beautiful sunsets... this one is at Back Beach in Bunbury, WA with the Marlston Lighthouse seen in the distance... captured with my first, full frame Nikon DSLR... the D700
Elizabeth has been happy to be back home with her daughter Tulley, for whom she purchased a wooden toy duck while in Munich, Germany. Also in the photo are Tulley's playmates, Kyle and Bonnie (children of friends "Booley" and Maddy). Where are their parents? Off enjoying their freedom from parenting now that "Aunt Stick" is back in town. ;)
CN's local transfer run to the CP interchange in downtown Regina slowly makes its way through the back alleys with a pair of vulnerable Geeps doing the honours.
Haven't done one of these in a while. Mostly cause I'm sick of all these people.

Imagine, that someone from the faraway future looks at digital photo archive and see old photos. What people on them? What fashion? What emotions behind photo?
Tmes change, eras change, fashion change. Pose is eternal. The same couple through times. Is it reincarnation or similarity?
Idea was to show different eras and fashion, how's everything changes, only pose remains as classic.
