Hamburg, October 2010.

He is the guy that i have known for some long time now and have been friends with him exceptionally... we did start meeting on certain circumstances but then as the time passed by, things that put us together were left far behind... Now we are like brothers and proud be a support to each other... after all, thats what friendship is all about..

Yasir Nisar just returned from South Africa a few days back with a wide range of activity performed. Among which, included one of the main themes : the promotion of the right image of Pakistan to the outer world through his naked eye blended with the expertise with respect to photography in the shape of an exhibition named " THE OTHER PAKISTAN"... we all congratulate him for the wonderful portfolio and successful return... some of the other projects included the lectures and seminars he delivered on the culture and photography in various universities, birds and safari, Champions Trophy 2009, fashion photography and many more...

Kruger National Park

12h25

It mainly eats fish and other aquatic animals, doing most of its foraging by lurking in a crouched posture at the water's edge, grabbing anything unfortunate enough to come within range.

It may also use an insect, spider, piece of bread or paper as a bait, snapping up any prey large enough to swallow.

Perch-hunting has also been recorded, as it can uses its strong eyesight to spot prey in the water, before diving in feet-first and sometimes completely submerging itself.

we had a wonderful time at the beach and I am now playing catch up...I hope to upload more vacation pics soon..

Styles and eras come together in this unexpected view along Newbury Street. One of the Back Bay's oldest buildings, the 1863 Beaux-Arts old Museum of Natural History (today a Restoration Hardware store) on Berkeley Street, the 1941 Art Deco New England Mutual Life Insurance Building on Boylston Street (today an office building), the 1991 Post-Modern 222 Berkeley Street, and the 1947 Art Deco Berkeley Building, more commonly known as the Old John Hancock Building, on Berkeley Street and its famed weather beacon come together for an interesting mix of periods and styles. Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

A still life inspired by the fact that school starts back tomorrow.

Thanks to the 14 groups this work has been invited to.

I shot this years ago and always wanted to go back and improve it since I took it when it was way too dark before.

Blue hour, better camera gear, I am glad I was able to return there the other night. Cool POV for the famous Lombard street.

Looking back at unposted photos from our visit to Australia. Wonderful unique Australian critters - never met a critter I didn't like.

Lyric Harmony and Duke await their turn at the TEMCO pier, no, not the one in foreground.... :)

Shooting from Thea Foss park was sort of a consolation prize for getting kicked off the bridge above it, but as it turns out there is so much light around you that THIS happens. I just bounced from spot to spot until it was too dark to shoot. :)

Enjoy a little music from one of my all-time favorite movies, "Back to the Future". Thank you, Huey Lewis and the News.

This image started as an HDR that I made of a room in an abandoned house. Then the phone came along, months later, and it seemed like the two were meant for each other.

Taken way back at the start of Spring this year. What a long time ago. M42 screw mount Auto Sears 55mm F1.4 on my Sony NEX-6. Well worth £31.

Thanks for the faves and comments, it's very nice and very much appreciated, Paul.

The Oriental dwarf kingfisher (Ceyx erithaca), also known as the black-backed kingfisher or three-toed kingfisher, is a species of bird in the family Alcedinidae.

This is a small, red and yellow kingfisher, averaging 13 cm (5.1 in) in length, yellow underparts with glowing bluish-black upperparts. A widespread resident of lowland forest, it is endemic across much of the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

In the Back Bay last Sunday, some trees are doing fall and some still think it's spring.

I tried out my Rokinon 12mm lens for my Sony a6000. I'm not really used to using such a wide angle lens or the manual focus, but it was nice to be able to get more of the buildings in a shot when you can't back up any further without having cars in the way. And the focus peaking makes the manual focus easy at least for non-moving subjects.

(Note this is a fully manual lens so it doesn't give any EXIF data.)

Update: after posting this, I figured out that since the lens is manual, Lightroom doesn't know what lens it is, but if I explicitly tell Lightroom what lens I used, it applies lens corrections that get rid of some distortion. So this photo is without any lens corrections, but in the future I'll probably be applying those corrections to photos taken with this lens.

I went back and forth between posting the crop and the full image. At the end of the day, I felt like the crop showed what I truly wanted to capture in the first place—framing the shot after I’ve already taken it. Image quality should always be secondary when taking photos for artistic enjoyment. There is a time and a place to pixel peep. The subject is what matters most, and it’s pertinence to the photographer’s vision. Taken on Portra 400 with the Hasselblad 500cm and Zeiss 80mm 2.8
