The Daily Press - Modular Newspaper Print Shop.
Alternate build (b model) for the LEGO 10278 Police Station.
Building instructions available rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-93582
I used 2735 of the 2903 parts of the LEGO Police Station.
The ground floor of the main building contains a press room with an old newspaper printing press, in the first floor there is the editorial office and on the second floor lives the owner in a small apartment with roof terrace.
In the smaller neighboring building there is a flower shop on both floors (with room for growing and caring the plants upstairs).
Engine: GMC "Twin Six" 702 cu. in. V-12 gas
Transmissions: 5 speed main and 2 speed auxiliary
My good friend Jeff's dad Jack Colburn standing proud with his new county truck assignment in 1960. This was the first of six of these V-12 powered GMC's the county would purchase between 1960 and 1964. Ironically, this would also be the last one to be retired from active service, staying in the fleet until 1985.
Mr. Colburn started with Madison County in 1951 and was assigned a 1947 GMC A-model single axle dump truck, fleet number 41. Jeff remembers his dad telling him what a tank of a truck that one was to drive. Things improved with his first new truck assignment in 1952- a Mack A-40P single axle dump designated truck number 2. He then got truck number 5, a 1955 GMC 660 single axle dump, another 660 GMC in 1956 which was truck number 15, followed by truck number 40 pictured here. The last new truck assignment Mr. Colburn would operated was truck No. 74 in 1970, a big GMC 9500 tandem which can be seen elsewhere in this album.
Mr. Colburn retired in 1979 clearing the way for Jeff to start employment with the county the very next day and where he continues to work today. Jeff still remembers riding with his dad in this truck 40 as a kid. Interestingly, some 20+ years after this photo was taken, Jeff would take the wheel of this truck a few times, much to his father's surprise that the old girl was still around. I wonder if this truck survives somewhere today?

Engine: Mack Thermodyne END-673 six cylinder diesel
Transmission: Mack Duplex 5+2 compound
1965 was the final full production year of classic Mack B-model. This B-67ST model with contour cab looked pretty solid when it was up for auction back in 2018. The truck resided in New Hampshire at the time.

This is a modification of my alternate build of the LEGO 10278 Police Station - the corner building „The Daily Press“- I built in November 2021, since I recognised that I wasn't able to display the original corner building in the shelf in my living room properly.
This new non corner version is also built only with bricks from the LEGO 10278 Police Station. It's built a bit less tricky than the original building, but nevertheless I think I like it a bit better than the other one. Don't know exactly why – perhaps because I don't have to choose between the two facades but have them next to each other.
Of course there are also building instructions available reb.li/m/97319
Sikeston MO - Engine 3
1958 Mack
750 GPM - 500 Tank
#B 85 F - 1337
When we went to lunch the day this photo was taken our tour guide drove us to Lamberts where I ate my first "throwed roll"! Yummy....
Old (1990's) model I purchased on Ebay last year. It arrived in damaged condition and needed a complete rebuild. DeHanes models were made in 1/55 scale and were quite crude compared to today's resin and diecast models.
At last a suitable train for the Peterson locomotive, those lime container waggons are made by B-Models.

I call this moc "Modular Bait Shop And Grocery". It is built only with parts from the set 21310 Old Fishing Store. Therefor I used 1995 of the original 2033 parts.

At the end of last year, I got the idea to design a modular house for all the collectors of the Lego Creator Expert Art Nouveau houses. After the Corner Garage was released, I feared that no house that fitted this older epoche would be released for a longer time. The bookshop finally taught me better, but of course I nevertheless finished my moc.
Since especially my mother is one of the collectors of these older modular houses and she owns the Old Fishing Store, I decided at that time to design my moc as a B model for this set.

I printed this from one of Harry Patterson's negatives many years ago. Very early color negative in a odd size, maybe 1.5 X 3.0 inch?
