What Is Pink?

Pink is a rose that sparkles

In the sun.

Pink is a book cover that you read.

Pink is a girl's cheek in the winter.

Pink is one of the colors of the rainbow.

In the sky's night.

Pink is paper that you write on.

Pink is nail polish that you

Paint your nails with.

Pink is a marker that you color with.

A pink balloon that flies high in

The sky.

Pink is food coloring

That you put on Easter eggs.

Pink could be a girl's headband.

Pink is a shirt that has a heart

On it.

Pink is a warm, fuzzy blanket.

The color pink is considered feminine in modern Western countries. It evokes traditional feminine gender roles, caring for other people, being beautiful, being good, and being cooperative.

The pink ribbon represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses who publicly support the breast cancer movement. It is intended to evoke solidarity with women who currently have breast cancer.

Η ιδέα του "Sola Fide" ώς δόγμα, αξία, πιστεύω, αναφέρεται στην εμπιστοσύνη του πιστού στον Ιησού Χριστό, Υιό του Θεού, ώς μέσο λύτρωσης, εξυγίανσης και εν τέλει ώς μέσο εξασφάλισης μιας θέσης στο επουράνιο παράδεισο. Πώς θα αντιλαμβάνονταν όμως ο πιστός τον παράδεισο αν δεν είχε εισχωρήσει υποσυνείδητα μέσα του η έννοια της μεταθανάτιας ζωής ‘εν τω παραδείσω’; Θα ήταν μια παραίσθηση; Ένα καταφύγιο από τους δαίμονες της ψυχής και του μυαλού; Μια προσωπική συναισθηματική συνθήκη; Θα αφηνόσουν στα χέρια του Χριστού, της θρησκείας αν γνώριζες ότι ο παράδεισος και η κόλαση αντίστοιχα αφορούν την επίγεια ζωή σου; Θα πάσχιζες να κατακτήσεις ένα ‘εισιτήριο’ ή θα αδιαφορούσες;

What if you knew that heaven is on earth? One must come to faith alone. No matter what that faith may be

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And for the 3rd year in a row now I am making pink photos. My mom died from breast cancer, so this is for her <3

We teach beginners of all ages, where I work. This rose is in the garden of one of our seniors. She was having trouble connecting to the internet with the modem her grand daughter had given her, so I offered to go round and check it out.

There were still some late blooming roses in the garden, so I had to delay my return to work by taking some shots. I am looking forward to returning when the over 40 varieties (alll with scent) will be in bloom.

Another recent addition to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art is the Broad Contemporary Art Museum, funded by Edythe and Eli Broad [before they built their own museum downtown]. I saw quite a few works by Jeff Koons (1955- ) there, e.g. this large (42 x 70½ x 32½ in., i.e. 1.07 x 1.79 x .83 m) 1988 porcelain sculpture of Bubbles and his friend. The picture on the wall, 102 x 138 in., i.e. 2.6 x 3.5 m, is also by Koons. It is named “Quad Elvis” (sic!), possibly to outdo Andy Warhol, whose Triple Elvis sold for fourscore million dollars — or $81,900,000.00 to be more precise.

Not sure if taxes were included...

The security guard came over as I was shooting these. I had set my bag on the ground, and spread my wet prints out. I was sure he was coming over for the same reason they always do. To tell me to pack it up, move it along. He was actually coming over to SEE. He wanted to see my shots. That made me very happy. It also made me feel a little bad that I had though he was coming over to yell at me.
