The “Norseman” is indeed a true “bush plane”, being the result of research by its constructor, Bob Noorduyn, as to what would be the optimum specifications of an aircraft for Canadian bush conditions. The prototype first flew in November 1935 and 903 were built by the end of the Second World War. Many served in the United States Army Air Force. It was the first Canadian designed and built aircraft sold on the world market, and played a key role in establishing the reputation for excellence and performance enjoyed by Canadian aircraft manufacturers today.
Our “Norseman” started life as a USAAF UC-64A in 1944. It returned to Canada in 1956. It saw a variety of owners, and eventually crashed at a mining site at Bronson Creek, B.C. It was badly damaged by the crash and a curious bear. BCAM bought the aircraft for scrap value and acquired another fuselage from Gimli, Manitoba. With assistance from the Millennium Fund, a lengthy restoration returned the aircraft to airworthy condition. It was rolled out in August 2003 and flew only once, as insurance costs proved to be prohibitive! Our “Norseman” is featured on the BCAM logo

In Spain, the Breast Cancer awareness day is every 19th October. Today, there are many pink ribbons at every floor of my hospital; and almost the entire health staff wears a pink ribbon pinned on his uniform. Pink for a good cause… Trying to show support and spread the word about breast cancer awareness. This is praiseworthy; but, in my opinion, information and research are better.
The pink ribbon (the international symbol of breast cancer awareness) has become nothing more than self-promotion for too many organizations and companies. The pink ribbon has lost its effectiveness, becoming merely a marketing tool to sell stuff. And, sometimes the profit of the sale of a product with a pink ribbon on it is not going to breast cancer.
It's time to move beyond the ribbon, stop profiting from a terrible disease, and start thinking about how to really impact the cancer epidemic with prevention (avoiding breast cancer risk factors) and early detection (high-quality mammogram plus a clinical breast exam); and providing meaningful support for the diagnosed.

This year's PINK Basketball games were a huge sucess in part to the hard work put in by Student Activities, the coaches, and players.
The night started with a fantastic tailgate party filled with pizza, games, and music, followed-up by the Men's and Women's Basektball teams taking on Ohio State Lima.
There were a few special treats during the games - including Trotwood Madison Middle School and Trotwood-Madison High School students who joined us for sevral performances!
