Enjoyed a very slow sunday today...the best type of sunday, pottering about avoiding all the things I should be doing. It started with a late breakfast of french toast with blueberry maple sauce ( A Nigella Lawson recipe)

On 28 July 2015, 37401 was allocated to 7C20 (DRS' 0756 Sellafield - Drigg Low Level Waste train) and was photographed here at Seascale.
Protruding from the horizon, the stacks of the Sellafield plant can be seen.
this is the heat
of a sun
that climbed too high
and never set again.
this is a field
of dreamers
that have not yet
found their way.
this is an inflammation
of the soul
that flared up
unawares.
this is the sound
of laughter
melting
like the snow.

This delightful picture was takn at Ripple Station, the station was on the line between Upton-on-Severn and Tewksbury.
The line left the Great Western at Malvern Junction, the first station being Malvern Wells (Midland). The line continued though to Ashchurch. Ripple Station closed 14/08/1961.
This monochrome negative shows the station and buildings much better then the colour transparency I uploaded 10 years ago.
Here we see a lady with 3 children waiting for the train to stop, they are behind a stoutly built porters trolley with a large wooden box upon it. Nearer to the camera is a neat LMS station sign next to an oil lamp, although at first sight it looks like a gas lamp it has no gas supply and has a distinctive chimney.
The loco was 41900, it was a W. Stanier 0-4-4 2P, built at Derby works for the LMS as 6400, it was renumbered in 1946 to 1900 and under B.R. it became 41900. the build date was December 1932. It was withdrawn 16/03/1962 and cut at Crewe works the following month.

Drewry class 04 D2322, or N.C.B. South Yorkshire area No.24, is in a bit of a state at Kiveton Park colliery on 27th September 1983.
House of Harlot Black with Red frills. The other postings show the skirt with zip and frill at the back but having worn it again at the weekend i am sure it is the front as easier to walk in for sure. As I was gratefully gifted the outfit I am not 100% sure which is correct. Anybody here know?
