This aged Scania is now fully refurbished. Its had a full service, and its air problem fixed, and repainted into black and white. The first service this bus will see is the 500 for Omega. No doubt this bus will appear on some of Smith's services as well.

Now one of the oldest buses in the First Glasgow fleet is this X-reg Axcess Floline-bodied Scania L94UB trainer. The number of such L94UBs in this role has dropped significantly, with Solar-bodied L94UBs becoming the trainer type of choice for Glasgow over the past 2 or so years.

P505XSH was a Scania L113CRL / Wright Axcess Ultraflow DP47F purchased new by Lowland (505) in October 1996. It was sent to work in Fife against Stagecoach after a bitter bus-war in Glasgow escalated. For a while First had a low-floor advantage against Fife's Volvo B10M's, but as that fleet was updated this soon vanished and it was decided to scale back operations when similar actions were taken by Stagecoach in Glasgow. The bus became First Scotland East 62293 in due course. It was laying-over in Dunfermline Bus Station.

I do believe this bus did pass onto McGill’s Midland Bluebird though it will not be a surprise if it’s now withdrawn and awaiting disposal!

Hard to believe that this bus is over 20 years old (new October 1996). Shows how old I'm getting (or just feeling lol), but it's gratifying at the same time to see buses of this era making it onto the preservation scene in sizable numbers.
