A trip to the Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet in March 2013 gave me a first glance at the Chester and Wirral bus operations at that time recently taken over by Stagecoach from First.
The Outlet is served by the 1 service that links Chester with Liverpool. Seen bound for Liverpool is Wright Axcess Floline bodied Scania L94UB 28535, of Rock Ferry garage. A few months previous, this bus had been First's 60119.
On one of my earlier postings of a former First Wyvern bus operating with Diamond in Kidderminster, I had commented on how Diamond seemed to have done a better job of removing all traces of the First logos from the aquired vehicles, than Stagecoach seemed to have done in Cheshire. This photo abley demonstrates my point, with Stagecoach logos applied over the glue outline of the former First logos.
This Scania saloon was new to Rider York for the Park & Ride services in 1995, in a blue livery. This saloon was spotted parked up on Vicar lane before embarking on some evening services.

ConnexionsBuses S801 SJV is a Scania L94 Wright Axcess Floline which has previously been with Lincolnshire Road Car and then Stagecoach - seen here leaving Harrogate bus station with the HCT route X1 to Knaresborough, a commercial service competing against Transdev... and presumably due to how the services are timetabled to comete, the destination 'via' line includes the text "we lead, others follow".
This bus will be the first or second vehicle to be withdrawn from service once for ex-Eddie Brown Wright Solar's have been repainted and are put into service.
Last operated by ConnexionsBuses near York and something of a celebrity in the fleet, Scania L113CRL Wright Axcess Ultralow N414 ENW is now owned privately by Josh Bickerstaffe and Matthew Thompson and is seen on its first attendance at a bus rally in preservation since passing its MOT in November 2017. This is a brief video of the engine idling - at the moment there is a bit of gunge in the radiator so the guys keep trying to flush it out.
A remarkable survivor, this bus was new in late 1995 to Rider York for Park and Ride duties as fleet number 8414 in a distinctive 2-tone blue livery (as had been used on M113SLS, a demonstrator which had been tried by Rider York and they obviously liked the livery so much they then adopted it) and was one member in the very first full batch of low floor buses for Yorkshire. Along with later additions as the P&R operation expanded, this stayed in York for 7 years until 2002 when the entire single decker York fleet had been replaced by inferior Volvo B7L's and B6BLE's - this bus moved to Potteries for a while beofre settling in the Leeds fleet. A rear-end collision almost spelled the end for this, however the decision was made to rebuild and repair to keep it in use. Upon reentering service with Firstgroup, it had been given the new Olympia livery and at the time was the oldest bus in passenger service to gain the livery. Withdrawn in late summer 2014, it was feared this would make a one-way trip to Barnsley - but instead was saved by Craig Temple of Connexions Buses (formerly known as Harrogate Coach Travel); initially bought for preservation, a full inspection revealled it's condition was simply too good for it to not see a bit more use in service. It was last used in stagecarriage service in November 2016 on service 13 in York. Currently in the early stages of its life in preservation, it will eventually be given it's Park and Ride livery back again in addition to destination equipment as close to original as possible (the side numeric display is still the original Bright Tech unit, and an original roller blind from the fleet has been provided by Andy Burbridge). Most of the interior trim is to original Rider York spec, though the seat padding has gone flat which is a bit expected after over 20 years of service use; ceiling speakers were provided and were connected to a PA system so the driver could announce the city centre stops, in the B7L's which replaced the Scanias this PA system was also connected to a radio receiver
One of the lowest numbered L113s remaining in service is Wright bodied former SS10. Note the pre-Barbie interior on this bus. The 23 is pretty much home to the oldest Scanias at the moment.
Some progress on the Wright Scania Axcess, to be decorated into network orange livery.
If I ever get another I'll do an Easy Rider one to go with it!
In future if I ever get the chance I'd like to do a Solo (maybe Go2 green or network maroon), Scania 528 and Optare Excels.
Over the year's, passenger numbers have fallen on the X15 services which link Glasgow with Livingston on a 2 hourly frequency. In 2011 an attempt was made to boost these figures by introducing an hourly service to Livingston, however with the Airdrie to Bathgate section of railway having not long opened, it would have been very hard to compete with.
On the 28th of October 2012 the X15 was withdrawn and the X14 was extended from beyond Bathgate to Livingston as a partial replacement.
Scania 62396 is captured in Glasgow working the normally coach operated X15.

This Scania L113CRL/Wright Axcess Ultralow is photographed here in Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire's Back Gillmoss Lane depot in Gillmoss. The bus has been withdrawn from Stagecoach Wirral's fleet and is awaiting its fate. This bus sports First Chester and Wirral's standard livery.

This Wright Axcess Ultralow Bodied Scania L113CRL N414 ENW has had an interesting life. Being new to Rider York for their park and ride services in September 1995, it then ran in Chester for some time before passing onto First Leeds where against all odds was painted into the Companies 'Olympia' Corporate livery after an RTA repair(Photo link can be seen below) but was eventually withdrawn in 2014 and purchased by Connexions Buses, where it is seen here at Askham Bar Tescos in York, which is also one of the many park and ride sites it would have served when new. Realistically, this should have been withdrawn with the single Decker DDA deadline in January of this year, but a joy to still see it out and about!

Not sure what's going on with this registration plate. It looks like I have badly used photoshop (or worse Paint!) but this vehicle was running in this condition. Surely far from legal!
One of a batch, 562 - 567 (T562 BSS - T567 BSS), that entered service with First Aberdeen in July 1999. Some later transferred to "First Edinburgh/First Midland Bluebird". In 2001 all passed to First Manchester becoming 172 - 177 there (later becoming 60216 - 60221).
T563 BSS is currently (July 2016) in service with Harrogate Coach Travel (Connexions buses), having been acquired from First West Yorkshire earlier in the year.
T566 BSS is being restored, hopefully to original condition (see below) at least externally, with longer willows, rather than the shorter version shown, which were introduced to accommodate adverts on the lower panels.

OMG ! Completely unexpectedly I think I know what is covering one of our Plaxton's duties while it is on loan to Southampton. I would never expect Bracknell Scania in one of Slough's routes, not even on route 7 - a standard place of all types of fleet.
Not mentioning that even the driver was shocked as she had to change from Marshall, that was taken away as a 60 to Eton Wick. And also here is another evidence that route 7 had almost every type of the bus on it :D
