First Potteries Scania L94UB/Wright Axcess Floline 60171.T918SSF in Quadrant Road, Hanley on the 20th August 2014.

Looking more like it belongs on the seafront at Blackpool or in a Spanish holiday resort Alton Towers Transport's Scania L94UB/Wright Axcess-Floline T743JHE at least makes a change from the normal plain white that ATT's vehicles usually appear in, wearing this overall advert for the resorts Waterpark. It is seen here departing hanley bus station for the Alton Towers Resort early in the 2012 season, 26/03/2012.

This bus was new to Midland Bluebird as 570 in 1995.

Seen here leaving Edinburgh Bus Station.

Despite being withdrawn from service in 2015, 14, together with 10 and 13 were returned to service the following year following a refurbishment and repaint. Intended for use on school contracts, the trio have made appearances on frontline services, as demonstrated here.

Now, only two remain operational, with S110 TDW having been donated to Barry-based Cardiff Transport Preservation Group in the October of 2017.

ConnexionsBuses Scania L94UB Wright Axcess Floline V587 DVF has today found itself in York on the 13 route, seen at the rail station in a quick photo I only had about 3 seconds to get from my arrival. New to First as 65587 this bus often finds itself in more hilly terrain such as on HCT's 38 route in Leeds

On Sunday morning i woke up to find newly restored Midland Bluebird 578 was completed and leaving First's Larbert Road depot off to it's new home at Bridgeton Bus Garage a former working garage originally build for Glasgow Corporation Transport in 1965.

My plans were to catch a couple of pictures leaving the garage but i was soon in for a treat thanks to John, Paul and Graeme who invited me inside for a closer look.

Connexions Buses, former First Northampton Scania L94UB / Wright Axcess Floline T575 JNG heads up North Lane in Headingley past the old Lounge cinema. Somewhere I spent many a happy Saturday afternoon as youngster. Seen working a White Rose - Gledhow 38 service with boss at the helm.

A splendid example of an ex Eastern Counties Scania L94UB Wright Axcess Floline, previously with Connexions, it now wears the livery of BlueBus, an early iteration of First Great Yarmouth,

Numbered 65574 in First’s national numbering scheme, S574TPW served King’s Lynn, Norwich and originally Ipswich during its time in the East, as well as continued service with First Essex

Last operated by ConnexionsBuses near York and something of a celebrity in the fleet, Scania L113CRL Wright Axcess Ultralow N414 ENW is now owned privately by Josh Bickerstaffe and Matthew Thompson and is seen on its first attendance at a bus rally in preservation since passing its MOT in November 2017. Seen at the Middloesbrough Transporter Bridge.

A remarkable survivor, this bus was new in late 1995 to Rider York for Park and Ride duties as fleet number 8414 in a distinctive 2-tone blue livery (as had been used on M113SLS, a demonstrator which had been tried by Rider York and they obviously liked the livery so much they then adopted it) and was one member in the very first full batch of low floor buses for Yorkshire. Along with later additions as the P&R operation expanded, this stayed in York for 7 years until 2002 when the entire single decker York fleet had been replaced by inferior Volvo B7L's and B6BLE's - this bus moved to Potteries for a while beofre settling in the Leeds fleet. A rear-end collision almost spelled the end for this, however the decision was made to rebuild and repair to keep it in use. Upon reentering service with Firstgroup, it had been given the new Olympia livery and at the time was the oldest bus in passenger service to gain the livery. Withdrawn in late summer 2014, it was feared this would make a one-way trip to Barnsley - but instead was saved by Craig Temple of Connexions Buses (formerly known as Harrogate Coach Travel); initially bought for preservation, a full inspection revealled it's condition was simply too good for it to not see a bit more use in service. It was last used in stagecarriage service in November 2016 on service 13 in York. Currently in the early stages of its life in preservation, it will eventually be given it's Park and Ride livery back again in addition to destination equipment as close to original as possible (the side numeric display is still the original Bright Tech unit, and an original roller blind from the fleet has been provided by Andy Burbridge). Most of the interior trim is to original Rider York spec, though the seat padding has gone flat which is a bit expected after over 20 years of service use; ceiling speakers were provided and were connected to a PA system so the driver could announce the city centre stops, in the B7L's which replaced the Scanias this PA system was also connected to a radio receiver

Plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven

Please take heart there is a reason for people to talk past their borders. This is rooted in the human desire to communicate. It is both unquenchable and unstoppable.

I would call it a state of sad affairs

This is how the world changes

each tap of this keyboard

they can not hide behind

their walls any longer

we are seeking truth

and beauty

trying to link

with others around us

who are the creative engine

that is leveraging the internet

one webpage at a time

to push the boundaries of

originality

creativity

we are like water pushing past limits

seeking our level

we are awash in resourcefulness

which knows no bounds

we are not a threat

we are a promise

look in our eyes

we are your positive future

turn off the lights

and there will be nothing

but darkness

again

but get real

we see in the dark

You could be mistaken for thinking First's R447 ALS (62304) was ready for service, as there are no missing parts on the outside or the inside at all. I assume it had not long arrived for scrapping with it being positioned like this with no front end removed. 09/08/14

Back where it belongs, on the streets of York at the Stonebow is Scania L113CRL Wright Axcess Ultralow N414 ENW running HCT service 13 to Haxby (which among enthusiasts is affectionately referred to as York's Heritage Bus Route).

However, with the DDA deadline at the end of 2015 looming ever closer its days of use on public service are very much limited. Craig may yet decide to keep this on the books for another year but only on 'Closed Door' school services, but whatever decision is made 8414 will be going straight into preservation locally as soon as it is withdrawn.
