Day 34 of 365 - Awake
After yesterday's ordeal at work I had a pretty long day. I decided that I'd, ultimately, not go to bed until my normal time. So, I didn't. In total, when I my head hit the pillow last night, I had been up for about 35 hours straight. I was pretty tired. But, today I'm awake again!
This was taken in my car, on my way home from work (a regular 3-11 shift, thank-you-very-much). I didn't have too much time to get my photo in, so I decided to try something a little different. I think it worked out pretty well. It's definitely not the greatest photo, but I don't think it's the worst, either. I didn't do too much editing on this one - just a little fiddling around with Levels and a little retouching.
I'm excited because I now get my three-days-straight off from work - a co-worker wondered if I would be able to switch with him, so I did. I think I'm going out of town on Wednesday. I don't know where, yet. I just think I need some time away from here. I plan on taking some pretty good photos, no matter where I go!

Mills Mill was a textile mill in Greenville, South Carolina, constructed in the early 20th century. In the early 1950s when we moved to this neighborhood, the noise of the mill through the open windows kept my small brother awake. Later they bricked up the windows. When this mill was converted to condominiums in the '90s, they restored the window openings and made a beautiful recycled building. This is the best outcome we could hope for. Many vacant textile mills in the Southeast have burned.
One side is still not yet ready for spring while the other side is already in bloom.

In de bijlage een prachtige sfeerfoto die ik met mn telefoon in de gashouder heb gemaakt. Hij is niet zo heel zuiver, maar toen die foto gemaakt is waren er nog geen telefoons met 5 megapixel camera. :-)
