"My dreams are a cruel joke, they taunt me.

Even in my dreams I'm an idiot who knows he's about to wake up to reality.

If I could only avoid sleep, but I can't.

I try to tell myself what to dream.

I try to dream that I'm flying.

Something free.

It never works."

One of the joys of democracy in action was seeing ex-tory Chancellor George Osborne able yesterday, the last day before polling, to use his editorship of the Evening Standard to say "all is forgiven I'll take that Lordship now".

She´s a nightowl.

Not supposed to wake her up when the sun is up.

A very rare, pre-coffee, portrait.

"you live like this, sheltered, in a delicate world, and you believe you are living. then you read a book… or you take a trip… and you discover that you are not living, that you are hibernating. the symptoms of hibernating are easily detectable: first, restlessness. the second symptom (when hibernating becomes dangerous and might degenerate into death): absence of pleasure. that is all. it appears like an innocuous illness. monotony, boredom, death. millions live like this (or die like this) without knowing it. they work in offices. they drive a car. they picnic with their families. they raise children. and then some shock treatment takes place, a person, a book, a song, and it awakens them and saves them from death. some never awaken."

You never get to choose

You live on what they send you

And you know they're gonna use

Things you love against you

One foot in the grave

One foot in the shower

There's never time to save

You're paying by the hour

Ci alziamo, camminiamo, lavoriamo, mangiamo, amiamo.

Woke up early this morning in time for a quick trip to Avoca to catch the sunrise. The sky changed colour so quickly as the sun came up over the horizon. I liked the more subtle tones of this one before the sun broke through.

In the last two days we have all been enjoying the sight and sounds of three young Tawny owls that emerged from our neighbours nest box. Adult birds are always present and a mouse was offered to one young, but it went to sleep standing on it!! ....... ate it later.
