This tranquil morning twilight shot captures the essence of downtown Milwaukee's waterfront. Discovery World's striking architecture takes center stage, while the impressive Couture and Northwestern Mutual towers rise behind it, all perfectly mirrored in the calm water.

Just in case you missed it the last several times, I am NOT a morning person.
Sometimes I don't even know how I get to work...I often have no memory of it...
I guess it's a good thing I don't operate heave machinery or anything.

... and see what the new day brings. Sky above Chicago at dawn 8/17/06. Best appreciated in the ORIGINAL size.
With only one morning in Glacier National Park, I decided to play it safe and choose Lake McDonald for the one place that I could shoot the sunrise from. Although there may be more beautiful places inside of Glacier, I wouldn't trade my morning on the lake with the beavers and the ospreys for a shot at any other location.
Thanks for looking and I'd appreciate any comments or constructive criticism that you may have!
I open my eyes. The view is clear. A familiar site. I look at my hands. My jacket. Awesome jacket. So glad I bought it. Purchase of the year. I look at my pants. Shoes. Everything is in place. I look around. The day is ending and my city never looked so beautiful before. I close my eyes, take a deep breath, hold it for a moment and exhale. I open them again. I'm still here. Here… Why am I here? I don't remember getting here. How did I get here? And why everything moves so fast? And where is everybody?
Anybody?

(I will be amusing myself with slightly different shots. No bokeh for you! :p)
With the seasonality of our Christmas Cactus, it just seems that I'm
obsessed with taking advantage of its magnificence (there's several more
decent shots where this came from).
I remembered about my seldom-used Speedlight 430EZ. It's been a while since I even thought about this superb but older strobe unit. So I used it to awaken our beautiful cactus, but at 1/2 power with a studio diffuser to soften the flash.
This one turned out a bit creepier than what I expected :) Another piece that will be shown at the Alcove, in Atlanta on May 8th.

I am becoming obsessed with this location at sunset, it's so perfect! Thankfully no one lives there currently, so I like to hike up there are steal some shots.
For some odd reason, it was rather difficult to stand on my toes like that - I kept falling! So, many takes later, I finally took something that worked out the way I was hoping for.
But instead of doing my homework like I should be...I went out and ventured the streets at sunset!
If I were you, I would view this on black, but you know, that's just me...
