The Worthing Pier was a success from the start and inevitably there were soon plans for improvements. Two kiosks were added on the landward end of the Pier in 1884 to house the tollhouse and a souvenir shop. By 1889 a pavilion had been erected at the southern end of the Pier. The landing stage was also at the southern end. It was very important to the success of the Pier as Paddle Steamers regularly moored there. The best known was the Worthing Belle, in recent years the Waverley has been a regular visitor.
Got to say I was really not getting on with this camera at this point, New location, but I had a vision what I wanted. Dogs were totally misbehaving and new camera in my hands. BUT I was testing it to the max. At this point I was trying out of focus foreground by waving a branch of heather in the foreground while trying too get Star to look roughly in my direction with a super shallow depth of field on a non native lens. Something about this I love though and yes I'm going to work on this. Dreams will some true tomorrow!

Report from a photo trip to Lofoten – 27
A white-tailed eagle approaching its prey with claws extended. When eagles catch fish, they grab them from the surface of the water with their talons.
Just after sunrise, only indirect light illuminates the eagle, but rocks on the nearby mountain are in full sun, creating reddish reflections in the water. The photo is from an eagle tour that started with a speedboat from Svolvær on Lofoten (Norway) in mid-November. The wild eagles were attracted by bait fish and we could admire their hunting behavior from 10 to 15 m away.
For those interested in more technical details: The most difficult task was to keep the eagle in the narrow focus range of the 300 mm telephoto lens. First, I set the Nikon Z 9's autofocus to 3D tracking and activated bird detection. It was not so bad, but once focus-tracking lost the eye due to the rapid movements, it was difficult or impossible to regain focus quickly enough. It was better after I set autofocus to wide area AF with a large focus area where it was easier to keep the eagle in.
I set the camera to ISO-Auto, all other settings were manual: f/7.1, 1/1600s

Autofocus in the dark is ok but not great. Hope its just my lack of understanding how to use a new camera
