The Volkswagen Amarok is a pickup truck produced by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV) since 2010. It is a traditional body-on-frame truck with double-wishbone suspension at the front and leaf springs at the rear.
The Amarok range consists of single cab and double cab, combined with either rear-wheel drive or 4motion four-wheel-drive, and is powered by turbocharged gasoline or turbocharged direct injection (TDI) diesel engines. VWCV considers the Toyota Hilux, Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi Triton and Chevrolet/Holden Colorado/S-10 to be Amarok competitors, although it is larger.
The Amarok, the first pickup from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, was presented to the general public in General Pacheco, Argentina, on 7 January 2010.
Naming
The name 'Amarok' was developed and researched by branding agency Interbrand on request from Volkswagen.
Revealed to the public on 4 June 2009, Amarok means "wolf" in Inuit, and Interbrand also claims it is associated with "he loves stones" in Romance languages.[13] It also resembles "tomorrow" in Irish. It is also the title of a 1990 record album by musician Mike Oldfield, a 2000 album of the German black metal solo project Nargaroth, and the name of an open-source music player (version 1.0 in 2004).
Volkswagen's association with 'Wolf' is referenced on many of its vehicles. Up until the 1980s, the 'Wolfsburg Crest', in various guises, was displayed on VW products, the most famous being the Type 1. Until 1964, the Wolfsburg crest badge was placed on the bonnet. The crest also appeared on the steering wheel hubs on many models. The Lupo (Italian for Wolf) was named in honour of Wolfsburg, the home of Volkswagen.

The Infiniti Essence Concept, introduced at Geneva 2009, is unlike most concept cars in that it is presented with Louis Vuitton luggage matched to the new supercar that is custom fit inside the rear hatch. The Infiniti Essence uses a similar engine to the GT-R at its heart, but adds a newly-developed Nissan corporate electric motor to produce an extra 158 horsepower.

The queen of plastic beauties! Amazing camera, with high quality lenses. The shutter is like no other, the viewfinder puts to shame many modern digital SLRs, it is BIG, I mean BIG and BRIGHT! All this in a camera no bigger than a cell phone. From an era when money was no problem, engineering came first. Those were the days...This is the second version of the Auto 110, the Super. New features included a brighter viewfinder with micro-prisms, self-timer and back-light exposure button. The double stroke lever advance (à la Leica) gave place to a single stroke one.
To my eyes this is one of the most intriguing cameras ever made. Why would anyone bother producing a 110 SLR, better still, creating a photographic system for a film that was going no where? It was clear by 1978, the year of birth of our little star, that the 110 film was a dead end, why did Pentax create such a jewel that could never make the company any money, it defeats reasoning.
