April Challenge Day 23 - Pentax Auto 110
This year I'm using a different film format each month, starting with the smallest and working my way up through the sizes. The format for April is 110, the “Pocket Instamatic” cartridge introduced by Kodak in 1972 and still available today. I've got a lot of 110 cameras, so I've set myself the challenge of using a different one each day of the month. The plan is to shoot 2 or 3 photos with a camera, and then transfer the film to the next one for the next day, using 30 different cameras altogether.
Lomography Orca BW 100 film, developed in Rodinal 1:50 for 9 minutes at 20 degrees.
This Chevy sported license plates from Georgia. This car's driver also parked exactly between the lines. This car also looked like it had flat tires but perhaps it just looked that way. Fun artwork on the hood. Red rims. Definitely an interesting vehicle. Never saw the owner or the driver....would have liked to compliment them on this artwork.

Konica C35 FD | Hexanon 38/1.8 | Superia 800 e.i.400
A number of people have asked my thoughts on the Konica C35 FD (which is the original Japanese market name for the beloved Auto S3, the exact same camera, but for the badging and most commonly with bright caps rather than all black) and the Hexanon that sits afront it. Well, plenty has been said/written about it online - it's easy to find reviews, and it's mostly all true from my perspective. And so, I won't wax about it much here. Thought I'd just share a little triad of quick snaps I made on a roll of Superia 800 a summer ago. The in-focus sharpness and out-of-focus rendering of this 38mm wonder is right on par with every other Hexanon out there, and in fact it's better than many. This tiny thing surprises me with every roll. By "tiny" I mean truly pint-sized, and by "surprises" I mean stuns and pleases me with its image quality. No wonder it has its own little cult of avid devotees. It seems I've been initiated.
The Taron Auto EE was produced from 1963-1965. It is a substantial, solidly made Japanese rangefinder with a 6-element Taronar 45/1.8 lens.
This was given to me yesterday by a neighbor in its case and with two obsolete flashes. The focusing ring was stuck and took quite a while to free up. It was loaded with a mystery film that turned out to be a 12-exposure roll of Kodacolor II (mid-'70s vintage) of which I shot every frame. This relic will go off to Dwayne's for processing soon.
The meter seems accurate, and so I've loaded it with Tri-X found at Goodwill for $2/roll.
Meter appears to read about 2 stops over, so incident metering.
The new Ford pick up kinda ruined the photo. Wished an older style truck was parked there instead.
