This year's auto show at the Farmer's Market good -- not stelar -- but good. Many of the cars had been shown there before, and the theme was lackluster, which is probably more representative of my personal than of the show itself. GTO's are not my favorite cars. Further drawing our ire was that many of them weren't stock, which in today's auto-show exhibition world seems to be a sin easily forgiven. But not for us.
Still, Greg and I managed to have a great time. I mean, what should you expect for free, right?
We especially enjoyed the Ghia-bodied Chrysler and the Dual Ghia Convertible, even though I'm sure we've seen them seomeplace before . . . I thought the Roadrunner was cool. I'm still not convinced it's not a clone, but it's something you rarely see.
Greg loves cars. He loves everything about them and can point out to me when the GTO with the Hemi badge didn't have it under the hood originally. He can tell when a Judge is just pretending, and when a car is completely original. I apprciate cars from an asthetic view. I think that's why I loved the 1932 Chrysler Imperial the best.
Hopefully Gilmore and company will make the guest-list next year more compelling -- and less of the same ol', same ol'. I mean seriously, in 18 years, how many times has that Cobra been the centerpeice? 18 years? It's time for a re-do.
