autoR, 2010, by Carsten Nicolai is the third project realized by the Temporäre Kunsthalle on its facade. autoR is conceived as a self-organizing process for which visitors are invited to apply a large number of stickers in seven different colors to a white background.
The installation’s title is derived from the Greek “auto” (founded on itself), plus the letter R, creating the “author” who brings forth something new. In the context of the project, the visitor takes on the role of the author, combining personal decisions with the tools provided by the artist to drive forward this interactive, creative design process.
Node Berlin Oslo is responsible for the graphic identity, posters etc. for the exhibitions at Temporäre Kunsthalle. The café has all the posters exhibited on the wall.

I´m a huge fan of auto tuners so of course I just had to build my own auto tuning shop. The shop is modular, but in a different way than the Lego modular sets in the fact that it includes a front connection for a street. The shop is completed with a working dyno (dynamometer) controlled by a Lego m motor and a lift. It also includes a computer station for data analysis, hydraulic jack, tool box, gas tank, and a whole bunch of tools and parts. The lobby is extremely simple because that´s the only way I´ve ever seen lobbies at auto shops. I also used the Lego Ford GT MKII for the photos just because it´s my favorite car and I thought it fit nicely in the shop.
