The good old full sized American Station Wagon were made extinct firstly by the rise of the Minivan and then by the SUV, ironically exactly the same has happened here too though the premium marques such as Volvo and the Germans just about hold on.
They didn't get much bigger than the vast second generation Chevrolet Kingswood with its football field length bonnet/hood and rear luggage compartment though amusingly like most American cars of the era were terrible with cabin space efficiency. I bet rear passengers got better legroom in the back of an Austin Maxi!
Modelled to perfection by Auto World and a great follow on to their 1969 model year version which I first bought way back in 2017. Finished in a factory authentic Fathom Blue with signature faux wood panelling it is extremely well detailed for its price point and has that weighty feeling only an all metal construction can give.

The only visit of the Auto-Train to Minehead in the day; Collett '4575' 2-6-2T no.5542 hurries out of Blue Anchor, past the beach, heading for Dunster.
'Manor' 4-6-0 no.7828 ‘Odney Manor’ exhaust can be in the distance, as she leaves Blue Anchor for Washford.
