After looking at some of my older images of vintage cars, I thought it might be fun to concentrate on just the grilles and headlight configurations, since they are so distinctive. I'm considering taking the best 13 shots and making a calendar. Your thoughts?
I've noticed a few BMWs with the blue & red coloured radiator grille fins lately. Presumably a recent trend.
Note the badly parked MINI in the background, taking up two spaces!

An auto rickshaw or three-wheeler (tuk-tuk, trishaw, auto, rickshaw, autorick, bajaj, rick, tricycle, mototaxi, baby taxi or lapa in popular parlance) is a usually three-wheeled cabin cycle for private use and as a vehicle for hire. It is a motorized version of the traditional pulled rickshaw or cycle rickshaw. Auto rickshaws are an essential form of urban transport in many developing countries, and a form of novelty transport in many Eastern countries.
Auto rickshaws (often called just auto) are common all over India, and provide cheap and efficient transportation. New auto rickshaws run on CNG and are environmentally friendly. Typical mileage for an Indian-made auto rickshaw is around 35 kilometers per liter of petrol (about 2.9 L per 100 km, or 82 miles per gallon [United States (wet measure), 100 miles per gallon Imperial (United Kingdom, Canada)].

Auto rickshaw manufacturers in India include Bajaj Auto, Kumar Motors, Kerala Auto Limited, Force Motors (previously Bajaj Tempo), Mahindra & Mahindra, Piaggio Ape and TVS Motors. Auto rickshaws are found in cities, villages and in the countryside.
A very old auto rickshaw in Bhedaghat, Madhya Pradesh.Such autos are the only means of public transport in some parts of rural IndiaThere are two types of autorickshaws in India. In older versions the engines were situated below driver's seat. In newer versions engines are in rear portion. They normally run on petrol, CNG and diesel. The seating capacity of a normal rickshaw is 4, including driver. There are also six-seater rickshaws in parts of Maharashtra. In cities and towns across India it is the backbone of city transport. Normally their fare rates are controlled by govt. They have traffic meters.
In July 1998, the Supreme Court of India ordered the Delhi government to implement CNG or LPG (Autogas) fuel for all autos and for the entire bus fleet in and around the city. Delhi's air quality has improved with the switch to CNG. Initially, auto rickshaw drivers in Delhi had to wait in long queues for CNG refueling, but the situation has improved with the increase of CNG stations. CNG autos were distinguishable from the erstwhile petrol-powered autos by having a green and yellow livery as opposed to the earlier black and yellow. Certain local governments are pushing for four-stroke engines instead of the current two-stroke versions.
On february 11 2012, a website was launched based on public interest to reveal the auto fares for the southern cities like Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore. The beta version website is www.meterpodu.in. Here in the website even migrants can update the fares keeping their recent experience of travel between the specific areas, provided they should have an authenticated account in either facebook or twitter. The service of this site has extended for the cities like Mysore and Coimbatore. In this connection the service is yet to arrive as a mobile application in android phones.

Meet Coral.
Ramone's brother and sister are coming to Radiator Springs. This is Coral a very dignified lady 1955 Chevroelet Bel Air Hardtop. Her two-tone paintwork is immaculate, and her trim in excellent condition. Coral is a bit older than Ramone, but takes great pride in her appearance. She has a heart of gold however, and is always generous of spirit.
Coral and her brother are heading to town for something special - can you guess what it might be?
Coral has been built as part of Flickr LUGNuts 44th Build Challenge - 'Cars Too!' - celebrating the Disney / Pixar 'Cars 2' characters, and other face
related vehicles.
