Dropped by the Harbour on the way home from work today ... the sky was ... average .. but the view was still quite enticing ... glad I had the gear with me..
The Shard is still the dominant building on the London skyline, especially when viewed from the Sky Garden atop 20 Fenchurch Street, or the Walkie Talkie Building as its more popularly known. Shot through thick glass on the viewing platform and edited to enhance the tones of the setting sun slightly, with a 35mm prime lens.
The amount of detail in the shot at full size is absolutely incredible (although compared with Lightroom Flickr may have done some sharpening/compressing I do not entirely approve of) - I've uploaded this at full-size so you can zoom in and poke around if you want. This new Z7 has some potential methinks...

A UNESCO site.
From Wikipedia:
Machu Picchu is a 15th-century Inca citadel located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru on a 2,430-meter (7,970 ft) mountain range. It is located in the Machupicchu District within Urubamba Province above the Sacred Valley, which is 80 kilometers (50 mi) northwest of Cusco. The Urubamba River flows past it, cutting through the Cordillera and creating a canyon with a tropical mountain climate.
The Incas, in contrast to the Maya, had no written language, and no European visited the site until the 19th century, so far as is known. There are, therefore, no written records of the site while it was in use. The names of the buildings, their supposed uses, and their inhabitants are all the product of modern archaeologists, on the basis of physical evidence, including tombs at the site.
Most recent archaeologists believe that Machu Picchu was constructed as an estate for the Inca emperor Pachacuti (1438–1472). Often referred to as the "Lost City of the Incas", it is the most familiar icon of Inca civilization. The Incas built the estate around 1450 but abandoned it a century later, at the time of the Spanish conquest. According to the new AMS radiocarbon dating, it was occupied from c. 1420–1532. Historical research published in 2022 claims that the site was probably called Huayna Picchu by the Inca, as it exists on the smaller peak of the same name.
Machu Picchu was built in the classical Inca style, with polished dry-stone walls. Its three primary structures are the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows. Most of the outlying buildings have been reconstructed in order to give visitors a better idea of how they originally appeared. By 1976, 30% of Machu Picchu had been restored and restoration continues.
Machu Picchu was declared a Peruvian Historic Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983. In 2007, Machu Picchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a worldwide internet poll.
I was out all day with John Shillaw
( www.flickr.com/photos/jshillaw/favorites/ ) and another photographer friend of ours, John Knorr. We had a great day shooting things that I would not normally shoot (rusted structures etc.). We ended the day looking for a ghost town, but we ran out of daylight before ever finding it. John & John were mostly shooting film. John Shillaw was kind enough to pull over to let me get some shots here.
I processed this with the new Aurora HDR software. Awesome software! #AuroraHDR.

The castle ruins sit on a high bluff overlooking a portion of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks. At the beginning of the 1900s, Snyder, who was a prominent Kansas City businessman, began construction of a magnificent European-style mansion or "castle." He was killed in an automobile accident before it was completed but his family continued the work and lived in it for a time. More than 15 miles of trails wind through the Ha Ha Tonka State Park, which has sinkholes, natural bridges, caves and an arm of the lake. The beautiful Lake of the Ozarks has over 1,000 miles of shoreline and attracts visitors from around the world.

Aufnahme zeigt ein Abschnitt eines Waldbrandes nahe Šibenik, Kroatien. Auffallend orange waren die Bläter und bildeten einen feurigen Kontrast zu den umgebenden Steinmauern und dem grauen Himmel.

If I lived in a pasture, I'd spend most of the summer sitting under the shade of an oak, and that's no bull.
I took this on a drive through the country here in Florida. Contrary to popular belief, most of the state is agriculture. All you have to do is drive from one coast to the other to see what I mean. The drive takes about two hours and passes through a lot of cattle country. It's no wonder rodeos are big here.
I'm an indoor weeny, depending on air conditioning to make it through the summer. If you lose your air-conditioning here, you may as well live on Mars or, under a tree.

The other night we hung out in a tree-lined park with outdoor cafes and listened to live music by candlelight. And to top it off, we were a thousand miles from land.
The Symphony of the Seas has six neighborhoods, and Central Park is my favorite. There are upscale restaurants with outdoor seating. At one end is Vintages, a wine bar where somehow, I end up at least once a day. In the afternoon, there might be one or two patrons, and you can sit at an outdoor table, and watch folks stroll by.
There are way too many choices; neighborhoods, restaurants, nightclubs, sports, shopping, and bars. Speaking of which; there are at least sixteen different bars, and I had a plan to try each one. I'm only halfway through, and it's not looking like I'll hit the goal. But rest assured, it's not for lack of trying.
