Ricketts Glen State Park in Pennsylvania.

In the solarium is this cool hot tub. I took this on the last night when everyone was in their rooms packing.

Even when the ship is completely booked, it's large enough to find quiet spots if you know where to look. The solarium with its cushy lounge chairs and the Vintages wine bar are my favorite spots.

For this shot, I used a 12mm wide-angle lens and mounted the camera on the ground with a Platypod (platypod.com/). The Platypod is like a tripod for low perspectives. This is a long-exposure that would have been difficult to shoot any other way. With the Platypod it was a breeze.

Walking along the streets of European coastal towns is an exercise in leisure. And if that's not an oxymoron, I don't know what is.

Actually, that goes for a lot I do on vacation - leisure and moron. Relaxation when traveling is a state of mind, sometimes easier said than gained. I do what I can.

In this case, I was in the town of Sitges, walking around on a Sunday. I was next to the main church that sits along the sea. Sunday notwithstanding, nobody was going in or out, just tourists, like me, walking around it, taking pictures, and practicing leisure.

The Silk Exchange is a UNESCO World Heritage site in the heart of Valencia, and a rather lovely place to explore too. Not sure my images do it justice, but love this big columns in the hall.

The new Switch House in Tate Modern has a new and unusual staircase for me to attack, caught this couple having a quiet nap at the bottom while peering down looking for the right angle to shoot from.

This photo is a little brook on the trail to Dutchman Falls. It's about as idyllic a trail as you could hope to find.

The midday light through the overhead branches created a latticework of shadows, which is slightly confusing to the eye.

The brook feeds Multnomah Falls, which is perhaps the most photographed waterfall in the Pacific Northwest, if not the country. I came here on holiday and found crowds of people visiting at the base. So I hiked up to the top of the falls and found a quiet trail with this stream.

I recommend hiking to the top, although it's strenuous with many switchbacks. But once you get there, you'll be glad you did. From there, I walked up to Dutchmans Falls, which is another picture for another day.
