The new UCR Barbara and Art Culver Center of the Arts is nearing completion. Opening in October, 2010 the Culver Center's new Atrium includes a spectacular multicolor LED theatrical lighting system allowing it to change to many different colors.

This is at a big bank building downtown. At the "Doors Open Denver" event.

The atrium at the Hotel Peninsular, Barcelona, Spain

The hotel is located about 1 block from Las Ramblas, near the Liceau Metro stop. It's spartan, but clean. No TV, no room phone, but a nice staff and a historic and funky building.

After a visit to the Atrium felt like they need a new identity but not quite sure this would be the one, started thinking a bit more Melbourne like, and then deviated a little bit, pleased with it but don't think it would make the architecture proud.

cram by name, cram by nature thanks to the huge amount of space devoted to this cool-looking atrium. whether the resultant odd (and frankly inconvenient) room shapes are a price worth paying for this, who am i to say?
