From Assembly website: At a special press conference, the Rev. Dr Ishmael Noko, LWF general secretary, released a letter that he had just faxed to the Hon. Denis Coderre, minister for citizenship and immigration in the Canadian government, requesting answers why 51 individuals had been denied visas to enter Canada to attend the Assembly..

Specifically, Noko asked Coderre to respond to allegations, reported in the press as supposedly stemming from â"federal sources", that the individuals denied visas include âalleged murderers, embezzlers of church funds and other criminalsâ. Noko wrote, âI ask you urgently to inform me if these reported allegations are indeed emanating from Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and if they correctly represent the position of your Ministryâ.
6L presented to the Primary School, during our Tuesday Assembly, the importance of resilience and perseverance. They used Mo Salah as an example of how hard work pays dividends. They also talked of their own successes by developing a determination to do better.

Every evening, the New York General Assembly meets at #OccupyWallStreet #OWS. Everyone is welcome to attend and welcome to participate. The rules for the meeting may be found at nycga.cc/resources/general-assembly-guide/.
The General Assembly is very democratically focused, with an effort to listening to different opinions and voices. Volunteer Facilitators work through the agenda and use a number of hand signals to communicate with the General Assembly. The "People's Mic" - an ad hoc verbal relay system - is used to make sure that Facilitators and others are heard throughout the General Assembly.
Working Groups - smaller volunteer teams tasked with handling specific issues - i.e., Finance, Sanitation, etc... - speak at the General Assembly to get consensus for those decisions that need consensus.
Anyone can speak at the General Assembly. In order to do so, they have to join the "Stack", the list of people that want to speak. The Stack is a "Progressive Stack", which means that minority individuals or individuals with less-discussed topics or issues can be floated to the top of the stack at the discretion of the Stack manager.
