Back at it for another session. It's now time to assemble the fused and slumped glass pieces together and attach them to the metal base.
Sounds easier then it actually is.
The glass needed to be sanded to a flat base at the lower end. No way to measure this, so it was lots of placement, machine sand table, placement, more sand table, placement, duck tape, more sanding, some assembly of the copper wires (very nervously as to not break them off) until it finally looked like it might be good enough.

This assembly is the door latch, lock and rear of the handle. It's quite something really. Must have taken hundreds of hours to design and make into a finished product.
The internal motors have been replaced, and its about to be reinserted into the door once I've taken the inner door plate off (I put it back with 2 bolts when I worked on this assembly on the kitchen table).
The inner door plate holds the speakers & window motor and linkage.
