The high-level event "Preventing Sexual Violence and Gender-based Crimes in Conflict and Securing Justice for Survivors" on 25 September 2012 was hosted by the United Kingdom, UN Women, the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) on Sexual Violence in Conflict, and the International Campaign to Stop Rape & Gender Violence in Conflict. Together, they called on world leaders for stronger actions to secure justice for survivors of conflict-related sexual violence and gender-based crimes.
A mini-assembly was held with the Commission on Social Witness Thursday morning to discuss and suggest amendments to a proposed Statement of Conscience on Peacemaking. This small group was working on the first part of the Statement: Where We Stand.

On Friday, May 2nd 2014 the Impossible Project had it's Open-Day in the Factory in Enschede. My brother and i decided to attend.
Trainride from Hamburg was a bit long and only getting in for the 10am Tour meant i had to get up at around 2am :)
It was quite amazing to see where those films in my fridge come from and what is involved in making them. Seeing the drums of developerpaste kept reminding me of the Roger Rabbit movie ;)
Shot a roll of film while on the tour. Well... i think there are a few Kodak BW400cn pics in the Olympus AF Mini but that's not ready yet to develop.
Anyway... I hope you enjoy the pics although they are not that great and my chems where really on their last run.

PT&P recently designed and manufactured a support assembly with two PTP-2 Type C spring hangers and a special clamp support. The springs are designed for an 8,500 lb load and a maximum travel of 1″. The entire assembly, with a net weight of 860 lbs, was fabricated from Carbon Steel and A-387 GR. 22 Chrome. The springs were calibrated to determine the exact spring rate prior to adjusting to customer specifications.

I have been waiting for a Yellow Blaze Focus to show up on the display. Just a week ago, my parents had their 2012 Yellow Blaze Focus out there with the car on display...a white car.
In 1995, I shot photos of my Ultra Violet Escort GT along with another Ultra Violet Escort GT in front of Wayne Assembly Plant (only 816 built in 1995!). I was hoping to do the same with their car.
When I retire my two SVT Contours, I will be likely driving a yellow Focus ST, built at this same plant.

The BD crew requested that we hold back any posting of images that were shot at Treasure Island on August 16 until the figure goes up on the Playa. But there were a few leaks and we have been cleared to post now, but I don't what to show the whole figure till the world sees it. ( The page before this one, that shows the figure, all set up, is a Photoshop illusion, made months ago, from the 13 foot version.
This page, and the next, will show the scale of the venture, when the Bliss Dance was tested.
At about 3 o'clock a huge crane arrived. The base was waiting and the whole supporting leg was attached. The outside ends of the six I-beams were bolted to the concrete. The torso was rolled out with new mounts- not welded, but bolted to an arm joint at one end and a leg joint at the other. By an ingenious process, the torso was raised to the vertical for the first time on its large base end. The base was released and the torso rose into the sky.

The highlighted ball hanging from the crane has a camera on it, pointing straight down. It was mounted there by friend of Marco, photographer, Sean Cope. The camera can shoot two and a half hours of 720p, HD video.

The opening at the hip looks like a joint, but it is just an area where the mesh has not been applied. Marco remarked- awhile back- that it was a strange reality that all of these seemingly masculine, angular parts could produce these curves that are so, so female.

Archbishop of Canterbury, DR Rowan Williams visits The National Assembly for Wales, Cardiff, 26 March 2012.
During his visit Dr Rowan Williams took part in a debate with students from secondary schools across South Wales in association with CEWC Cymru before giving a question and answer session in the Pierhead building.
