A slightly belated tribute to the artist Louise Bourgeois who died on 31st May 2010, aged 98.

LB gained the artistic recognition she deserved only in the last 20 years of her life. This came as a result of her retrospective exhibition in MOMA, New York in 1981 and the first Turbine Hall Commission at Tate Modern in 2000. It was in the latter that "Maman" her giant spider ( a metaphor for the powerful nurturing role of her mother) first appeared. "Maman" was re-installed outside Tate Modern during her retrospective exhibition there Oct.2007-Jan.2008.

We currently have a temporary art installation in Macclesfield called the 'ADP Riot Tour 2016' - it's a container that houses a model village, viewable though small spy holes dotted around the sides. The outside is covered in colourful graffiti. I went to have a look this morning, while the weather was bright... but it clouded over by the time I got there, which felt quite appropriate!

E.V.E ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS 2019

I mentioned briefly yesterday that I have been working on some various forms of photo art, that employ ideas of conceptual art that are influenced by Surrealists like Marcel Duchamp, Man Ray, the Russian Constructivist art movement and even Joseph Cornell. It involves hand crafting and digital media. The common theme running through these various experiments is the Unconscious (as indeed it was for the early Surrealists).

The endpoint of this current approach will be the completion of a short film on C.G. Jung and his "Red Book" (I hope not too big to upload to Flickr). The Frenchman Duchamp, who was also a chess grandmaster, once said of his art, "I am interested in ideas. Not merely visual products."

So everything you see over the coming week or so will not be pretty or even beautiful. But I hope it unlocks some ideas and stimulates a relationship with your Unconscious.

So I won't be spending much time describing the actual works, I'll let you work them out. This one today is a nod to the work of Joseph Cornell, one of the truly unique artists of the 20th century who should be better known. So I've given you a few links to follow up on if you're interested.

Here's the thing: this woman (not sure of her name) is like the Eiffel Tower of Havana; she is a tourist trap. A commodity. Pay for the tourist gaze. So I did.

If you drop by LEA23, you will see that we have started to work in the intro scene of "Chasing Morpheus".

The sim, although under construction, is open to visitors to see the work in progress while we work and chat a bit with us about.

"Chasing Morpheus" is the continuation of "Black Walls" in Dystopia's story for Linden Endowment for the Arts.

Some of you will recognize the central piece of this Intro scene.... you can get it at this Jan. round of The Chapter Four.

Stay tuned!

Enjoy ;)

An abstract shot of part of the new Amanda Levete Architects Exhibition Road courtyard entrance to the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Unlike previous years where I've had a pretty good list of places to visit during the now annual 24hr London photography event, this time I went without much of a plan. Having made an arrangement to meet up with a couple of fellow photographers in Camden a bit later I jumped on the tube and headed to the V&A to photograph the recently opened Exhibition Road entrance.

This photo doesn't show much of it's architectural grandeur so I'd suggest you take a look at this Guardian article if you'd like to find out more about the building : www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2017/jun/28/v-and-a-vict...

I saw around a dozen meteors tonight up at Bamburgh. The only one I caught was captured with the first 10 minutes of arriving. This is looking back from the lighthouse.

If the forecast is clear again tomorrow night I'm thinking of driving over to Anglesey in Wales to try to capture more of the Perseids.

David Chipperfield's design for new entrance on Museum island~ HSfS. www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/2019/jul/08/david-chippe...

As a continuation of Friedrich August Stüler’s forum architecture, the James-Simon-Galerie serves as the new entrance building for Museum Island, completing the ensemble between the Kupfergraben canal and the south-west façade of the Neues Museum. Together with the ‘Archaeological Promenade’, it forms the backbone of the masterplan that was developed in 1999 and adopted as the basis for all further planning on Museum Island. The building is sited on a narrow strip of land where Karl Friedrich Schinkel’s ‘Neuer Packhof’ administration building stood until 1938.

Newark-on-Trent's Corn Exchange in grand Italian Baroque style is by Henry Duesbury. It was opened on 27th September 1848 and was not only used as a corn market, held every Wednesday, but also for lectures, exhibitions and musical entertainments. It continued to be used for trade by the local farmers, millers and maltsters until 1978. The building's most recent use was to house a night club. Sadly, the present 'To Let' sign looks ominous on such a grand Grade II Listed Building which sits prominently on Castlegate. It appeared on a list of 'Forgotten Buildings of Britain' produced by The Guardian newspaper recently:- www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/gallery/2018/jun/09/forg...
