A panorama of the strait located between the islands of Langlade and Saint Pierre. Miquelon is also visible in the distance, just to the right of Langlade. As one can see, there is a lot of low ground cover such as ferns or juniper, but no trees.

This legendary land, consisting of nine islands. The archipelago of the Azores was discovered during the first half of the 15th-century by Portuguese navigators.
The town of Vaxholm was established in 1558, when King Gustav Vasa bought some farms from Count Per Brahe the Elder.
In the 1880s, it became a popular spa town, and many wooded summer houses were built by people from Stockholm.
It was not until 1912 that it allowed houses to be built from materials other than wood, giving the town a distinctive appearance.

The Stockholm archipelago is the largest archipelago in Sweden, and the second-largest archipelago in the Baltic Sea. The archipelago extends from Stockholm roughly 60 kilometres (37 mi) to the east. Today the archipelago is a popular holiday destination with some 50,000 holiday cottages (owned mainly by Stockholmers). Boating is an extremely popular activity.

This picture was taken just outside Karlskrona, Blekinge, Sweden. This jetty is actually used during summer by boats avidly used by the tourists visiting the area.
Archipelago Brewery is back in business! I finally got the chance to see the new brewery...and it's very shiny. Beautiful facility.
Archipelago Brewery Company was first established in Singapore in 1931 by German brewery Beck’s. In 1939 the brewery was seized by the British government as an asset of war. In 1941, after realizing they didn’t know how to run a brewery, England sold the brewery to Malayan Breweries, which today is Asia Pacific Breweries.
Malayan Breweries then built a new brewery in the 50’s and shifted production to the new, larger brewery, leaving the smaller brewery seldom-used.
Asia Pacific Brewing decided a couple years ago that Archipelago should be revived, using the fusion between asian cooking and european brewing to showcase the new beers.
Follow the adventures of our intrepid brewer here.

this ring is a map, and you are the captain. it pinpoints the path, wending through crystalline tropical waters, sand, coral forests. coconuts cluster in the trees, shafts of sun filter through the ocean, pillars amongst sea turtles making their slow way upstream.
this archipelago is a salty cluster, harbor to a chest of gold, an archaic mint tangled with pearls. your compass, your astrolabe, your scrolls of charted stars, deciphers all, lead you to your fortune at last....

Sandön is a beautiful little island in the Stockholm Archipelago, just a 50 minute boat ride from the city. It has bare cliffs, tiny sandy beaches (sandy shores are very rare in the Stockholm area) and a wonderful quaint little town with traditional housing. It was a lovely day! I have uploaded a high resolution so please enjoy the slideshow of 11 photos or the original size!

Zooming in on the island Yttre Gården where you can see a few houses and two windsurfers. The island is popular with sunbathers because of the many beaches.
