Archipelago in Southern America. Spanish for Land of Fire. Home to Yaghan people.

Hosts Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands with half million people. Is technically part of the West Indies but not the Carribean.

The central area of Sandhamn is a mixture of traditional log houses and summer villas from the start of the 20th century.

Mikael Blomkvist, a central character in the Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson has a cabin in Sandhamn. In the books comprising the Millennium Trilogy, he uses the cabin as a place to relax and write.

Lofoten Norway is an archipelago and a traditional district in the county of Nordland, Norway. Lofoten has distinctive scenery with dramatic mountains and peaks, open sea and sheltered bays, beaches and untouched lands. There are two towns, Svolvær and Leknes – the latter is approximately 169 km (105 mi) north of the Arctic Circle and approximately 2,420 km (1,500 mi) away from the North Pole.

These photo were taken on a RIB boat cruise. The highlight was seeing sea eagles.

Another book I bought at the Rotterdam second hand book market. Strange and dreamy Finnish landscapes. There was an exhibit in the Rotterdam Maritime Museum that looked exactly like this landscape. I wonder if it's still there.

Saaristomme on kaunis!

Tuuli humisee. Tyrskyt lyövät ulkokarien kalliorantoihin, jotka vi-

vahtelevat graniitin punertavissa ja gneissin harmaissa värisävyissä.

Lokit leijailevat auringon kilossa kiiltelevien ulapoiden yllä. Omalla

tavallaan ne laulavat ylistystä elämälle.

Samanlaisina kuuluivat luonnon äänet jo kuusituhatta vuotta sit-

ten, kun Suomen saaristot alkoivat kohota kivikauden meren aalloista.

Luoto sinne, toinen tänne ilmestyi syvyyksistä tuulen piestäväksi.

Mutta maan kohoaminen jatkui. Luodot laajenivat. Luonto juotti

niitä yhteen suuremmiksi saariksi. Tuuli, aallot ja linnut toivat saa-

rille kasvillisuutta. Syntyi viheriöiviä lehtoja. Maa puk eu tui ruohoon

ja kukkiin.

Midsummer hike on Marstrand island in Bohuslän archipelago. Had lunch with dessert. First time walking around whole island. Very nice with good path and actually some forrest trails also.
